Red light when turned on tv made a slight scratching noise and will not turn on. The light that is normally green flashed green/yellow then turns to red

try checking the system for timer or sleep mode operation try to setting it off

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). MY philips tv model number 55PL9773/17 WAS TURNING OFF THE SCREEN AND LEAVING THE AUDIO ON FOR ONE MINUTE. THEN THE YELLOW LIGHT STAYED ON. THEN THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. thEN I TURNED ON WITH THE REMOTE AND THE YELLOW LIGHT TURNED ON AND A FEW SECONDS LATER CHANGED TO THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE TV TURNED ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BETWEEN 10 AND 30 IT DID THE SAME THING. NOW IT IS OFF WITH A BLINKING RED LIGHT PERMANENTLY ON. TO TURN IT OFF I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT FROM THE WALL. I REPLACE THE LAMP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IT IS FINE.

You most likely either have a faulty power supply or high voltage transformer that is failing. You can test them both with a voltmeter or multi-tester. The capacitors on the newer sets seem to overheat and burn out quickly

Power packs can be repaired, and most time it is simply capacitors. I don't charge an arm and a leg

It is possible one of the internal fuses blew out.
It could be a bad horizontal outut transistor.
It could be a bad secondary of the power supply went bad
And many other things.
If it's just a fuse, it won't cost much, but a lot of them do not look like you would expect a fuse to look like.It might be a little yellow, green, or gray rectangualar box shaped part. :D

or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
