SOURCE: My JVC mx-gc5 stereo says protect and then shuts off

If protect is coming up on the display, it means the system is detecting a short somewhere on one of the speakers and so is turning the amp off to avoid damage.
Check all the connections at the back of the amp to ensure they are not shorting, and at the back of each speaker, if nothing is found there, check each wire for damage (like squashed or rodent damage).

JVC MX-GT88 sound system showing protected them shut off why

Chances are that something is blown in the power output stages and units shuts down to protect against further damage.

Repair or replace, which ever is cheaper!

JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

I have a jvc CA-MXKA6 stereo in my room. When I turn the volume up to 12 PROTECT comes up on the screen, the stereo makes a click noise, and the sound stops playing. Then about 5 sec. later the audio trys...

The click is a relay. The 12 position is obviously past the max you should be applying. Keep it below that and you should be fine. Quite often the 12 or 1 position is the max output for a receiver. It depends on a lot of different factors but in your setup 12 is It.

Stereo Reciever model CA-D4T:cd changer won't "read cd" and sometimes says "no disc" when thereis one in there! Sometimes out of the blue it will work but mostly not! Any help would...

This is an indication that either the lens is dirty or that the optics are failing. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, the optics will need to be replaced.
