usually you will have a menu button on the TV itself.

It may take some fenagling, but you can work around the USB input via the menu and options.

I would suggest you take that remote back. I got a cheap 8 dollar GE remote from Dollar General for 8 bucks and all that is required to program it is for the TV to be on. I've never heard of a universal remote having to be in TV mode as that would defeat the purpose.

Without its remote control, you can't select its inputs.
If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.

No other way. You should have its remote control to select inputs. I thinks that I've answered this problem, many times before.

Here I see this problem is posted by some 'Anonymous" person.
Whatever it may be, you can't select the input to your Sinotech TV; without its remote control.

Doing a firmware upgrade is the BEST way to recover from Safe Mode. A remote may go into safe mode itself for a variety of reasons.

However, if the remote fails to communicate with the PC when it is stuck in Safe Mode, please try the following.

1. Remove the batteries from the remote & check for any stuck buttons especially the Power button that may be causing the remote to stay in this state.
2. If it still will not apply firmware to get out of safe mode, then still without batteries hold down the #2 button while plugging into USB, and it should exit Safe Mode, and say something similar to 'Firmware Upgrade Success'. Even though it says this, still perform the Firmware upgrade since it was stuck in Safe Mode to begin with.
