first you have to install the cd which came with the printer to the laptop then you will have click start setting and click printer then you will see the printer name in the page right click it select defult printer then right click it click properties and click print test page
You aren't giving a lot of details here, but let's try a couple of things to see if we can clear this up. I am working from the assumption that you are talking about wireless printing, and am going to recommend that you try a test page with the laptop hooked to the printer by the USB cable. Are the results the same? If so, is the print clear when you print a test page from the printer's own maintenance menu? If so the problem is either the paper (moisture content) or the way in which the paper is being presented to the print head (possibly rubbing it a bit - again not enough info one the problem). If the smudging only occurs when printing from the laptop, be certain that you have the correct drivers installed.
