Camera won't turn on. It just makes clicking noise.

Fujifilm A850 camera will not work. It is brand new and turned on once after many attempts.
It makes a clicking noise whenever you try to turn it on but the lens does not open and the screen does not turn on.
After taking 1 photo the camera went dead and the lens is now stuck out (as if on) but when attempting with many NEW batteries to turn it on again the clicking noise is all I get.
I know the batteries work fine as I have tried them in a different camera and they are brand new.
This camera was won as a prize so do not have a reciept to take it back to the shop.

Replace your batteries with 2700mAh rechargeable batteries! Normal batteries it's not working for me! after i replace with Sony and Varta 2700 Ni-MH it's was working! My camera it's turn on every time!

Clicking noise it's because your batteries are not very powerfull!
Normal batteries it's not working for me!

My fujifilm a850 wont turn on, coz one time when i used to copy photo's tru computer and i used usb and after the task i forgot to turn off the camera and boila its getting white screen and never getting...
