My freezer is freezing on the underneath of freezer leaving water on floor. have we got it on right setting ? Is 1 coldest setting or is 7 coldest? Or is there another reason for this happening

Check for a gap in the rubber between the door seal or you might need gas

It's chest freezer its freezeing up underneath on the outside. The seal on the lid has great suction. The freezer is working well that's why I asked question about temperature control? Winter verses summer settings ?

Freezer was unplugged for 6 months, worked perfect before, will cool now but will not super freeze. is the colderst setting th lowest # or the highest ? 1 to 7 setting. upright from about 1999.

I have a maytag upright freezer. It is on the coldest setting. A bowl of water on the bottom shelf freezes overnight. The middle one is freezing, but not entirely. The top one is still water, but cold....

check to make sure door seals are touching the frame all round, could be an air leak,also make sure there is no ice build up around the inside casing. if so fully defrost unit,clean all vents/drain pipe, then turn back on and leave it for 24hrs (freezers work beast when full).....and door shut..how many times have you closed door after them????

The highest number is the coldest setting.When you fill it up with food to freeze , set the freezer to the coldest and after everything is frozen .set the control to the middle.

Problem with upright freezer not freezing

It sounds like the unit is low on freon or the compressor is going bad. You have several other components that could be affecting this as well. Make sure the coils are free from dust and clean underneath. This is a bit premature for you to have problems now, especially since it is a Sears product.
