Re: my kitchenmaid pitcher is stuck on the mixer. it...
The coupling on the motor has become bonded to the coupling on the beaker. Maybe it was moving about excessively and the 2 plastic parts have fused together. You can expect to have to replace the motor coupling and at the least the blade assembly or possibly the whole beaker depending on model. Knowing what you are up for needing to replace now if you wish to get it off put a litre of water in it, put the lid on and turn it on high and wobble, wriggle it about until it is able to be lifted off.

The best way that I've found to remove the bottom from the blender jar is to put the blender jar back on the blender base (make sure it locks in place) and then turn the jar to the right. You'll feel the jar detaching from the base. Once it's loosened up, remove from the base and finish turning the bottom, manually. Before I found this method, I had tried everything to get the plastic bottom detached from the jar. Without removing the bottom, there's no way to clean it properly and rather than be unsafe I'd need to throw the whole works in the trash. But the method I've described above works every time!
I'm assuming that this isn't happening on an model in which the bowl can be detached - otherwise the plastic bushing has melted and glued the shaft to the base of the mechanism - it will have to be replaced. You can find one on the Breville site http://www.brevilleusa.com/blending.html select yours and you will find it in the Parts &Accessories tab. The mixer has an plastic bushing on the shaft of the chopping mechanism that is there to connect it to the shaft of the motor. If that bushing or the bearing of the shaft got damaged in any way the entire mechanism will lock out.
To find out what exactly happened you will need to dismantle the mixer - take out the 4 screws on the bottom, unclip the power wire, remove the supports of the motor and pull it out for inspection. Parts from older models can be obtained only from a dealer, you will have to contact one and order it .
if the whisk attachment looks like the bottom part of your blender- the bottom part, with the blades, is probably detachable, and you can grasp it, and turn it counter-clockwise to detach it, and connect your other attachment by locking it in clockwise! just a guess! i have one, but no added attachments-but can remove blade part to clean it- as i stated- just a guess!! good luck!
