SOURCE: My Craftsman 53684 keyless won't work with my Craftsman 53930DM.

I've never seen the first set of steps you mention. You always need to press the "learn" button first so the opener will be in the mode to capture the new code. As far as I know it is not necessary to hold the Enter button on the keypad (at least I never have). While the "learn" LED is lit on the opener, just key in the new code and press Enter.

Maybe you should try clearing the receiver first by pressing the "learn" button and holding it until the LED either goes out or starts flashing (depends on model). Then try reprogramming. Maybe the little computer is confused.

SOURCE: i installed a model hd900d

My best advise to you is get the brand name remote for your opener. I know it sounds like a pain but click brands are not super great because there supposed to work for many different kinda. For the most part you can call your local garage door dealer and pick one up for your opener. They may sell you a lift master brand opener which is find sears/liftmaster/chamberlain are all the same. Should only be about 35 bucks if you pick it up

SOURCE: Sears garage door opener

I just found the solution for my 'ancient' Sears garage door opener, model # 139.655000, and I figured I'd share it.

There's a separate radio module, wired to the main opener. This module is small, has a short wire/antenna, and plugs directly into an outlet.

There's a manual open/close button on this module (I didn't realize this until I got up on a ladder). This button is also a removable cover; underneath it is a "smart actuate" button -- this is your learn button.

What I did was: unplug the radio module. Pry off the cover. Plug the radio module back in. Hold down the button on the remote. Press the "smart actuate" button. This programmed my remote successfully!

SOURCE: Automatic Doorman model 455 learn button location?

The button should be on the back of the motor unit. You may have to remove a light lens to find it.

Stanley garage door opener model 440. need a manual

http://www.teknuw.com/garage-door-opener-installation-manual/stanley/

https://www.manualslib.com/products/Stanley-U-Install-3760134.html

If you can identify the model number, it may be possible to locate a manual from 1997 using the internet with http://www.google.com

According to one of the web sites above, "Stanley stopped making garage door openers and gate operators in 1997. Spare parts can be difficult to find however original and compatible remote controls are still widely available, most of the remote controls used by Stanley were manufactured by the Linear corporation.
Stanley made garage door openers for other companies and many parts are interchangeable some of the brands they manufactured for are Vemco, U-Install, Quiet Glide, Light Maker, Home Innovative, Whistler, Popular Mechanics, and Secure Code."

I progammed by accident my #1 button on my KLIK1U to my #2 garage door. Then I seen the mistake, so I programmed my #1 button to my #1 garage door. Now my #1 button controls both garage doors and I now...

You're going to have to clear the memory on the openers. This is usually done by holding the learn button for about 15 seconds or until the led turns off. I'm not sure exactly what opener you have, so this may not be the case, if not, let me know exactly which opener you're programming your remote to.

Someone stole my garage door remote from my car. can i change something in or on my unit to render it useless when the thieves return hoping to gain entry? my opener is a shaft liftmaster ...thank you!

Locate the smart/learn button which is near where all those white wires go. Press and hold this button for 6 seconds. This will erase the memory of your opener and no remotes will work. You now need to program your remaining remotes.

Press and hold the button on your remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote you have.

I want to know if a universal wireless touchpad can be added to a Stanley Quiet Glide Garage Door Opener? If so, how do you set it up, I did not see any smart button or dip switches?

Hi - did you have any luck? I just bought a Skylink universal remote from Cdn Tire and don't see the "smart" button or dip switches on my Stanley remote or motor casing. There is a learn button on the casing but that appears to be for the door to "learn" the proper setting to go up and down and has nothing to do with the remote. Thanks!

I recently bought a house which has a craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener. The garage door opener works fine using the wall mounted pad and also the numeric key pad, but not with the remote that came with...

If you didn't, try programming the remote this way.

Press and hold the button on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button on the motor unit. If this doesn't work you need to make sure you have the correct remote for the model opener you have. Your model number doesn't bring any results from Sears Parts.com.

Universal garage door remote

I have a feeling your neighbor operated their door opener when you were programming your new clicker. Try erasing the memory of your opener and then program the clicker again making sure your neighbors do not operate theirs at the same time. To erase the memory hold the smart/learn button in for 10 seconds.
