Question about Hisense Televison & Video
Posted by Anonymous on
I realise this is an old thread. My Hisense TV did the same. Any button on the remote would switch the various screen settings. Then the light would constantly flash. Tried all these suggestions. Stuck a flash drive in and changed the source to the flash drive with the only button on the TV. Was then able to scroll through the flash menu with the remote...no idea, some kind of jump start? Remote works now.

I would replace the remote first, if that doesn't work the TV is at fault, and this can be very expensive.

SOURCE: Samsung TV remote control
I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
Confirmed with Samsung tech support. Problem is with remote. to fix, simple take the batteries out of the remote. Press and hold the UP Volume button for 2 Mintues (no cheating, it has to be at least 2 minutes), this Reset's the Remote Control. Put the batteries back in. Bob's your uncle. all fixed.

SOURCE: remote control
I had the same problem. The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control. The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV. This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote. - Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min. - Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.

hi had the same problem with alba 42" (l42m1) spoke to customer services at argos who suggested holding down menu button for 10 seconds then pressing menu again, which aparantly resets remote with tv. Has worked for me, hope it works for you.

Try keeping the handset menu button pressed for abount a minute, then check the other buttons again, this sometimes works - the set software seems to 'lock-up' causing this problem.
