I have an Aiwa cx-nma545 w/o the remote. What is the model number to the remote itself? Or do you know how I can replace it?

Request the manual from the manufacturer/distributor.

They do. If you're in the UK you can try Curry's Partmaster for replacements. Sorry to have to inform you that most replacement remotes are not cheap though, as the makers know when they can spot a money making thing. Everyone sits on or drops remotes!

The original remote is needed to get into the main menu, try www.aiwa.com contact customer support, also! go to www.ebay.com type make and model of unit and go through the list you might get lucky.

If the mute funcction is ON, it will effect for all inputs. Here the problem is not with the mute function. It must be with the system control section itself. You must have thorough knoledge in electronics to go further. OK.

Your system is in 'Eco' mode. If you are in this mode, and go 10 minutes without playing a CD or cassette, it will automatically turn itself off.

Here's how you get out of 'Eco' mode:

1) Go to the jog wheel assembly
2) Press 'Eco'
3) Press 'Enter'
4) The display will show "Eco Mode On"
5) Immediately turn the jog wheel, to turn the status from 'On' to 'Off'

On most TV's with speaker control there's a way to disable the TV's volume control effect on the level fed out to an external amplifier. Find it and disable it it or select FIXED for its level, or, while listening through the Aiwa, raise the TV's volume through its own remote and see if that affects what the Aiwa gets for volume.

Or, enable the TV's speakers but find the same interna lAudio setting and make it Fixed, but turn the TV volume down if you don't want to hear its speakers. That way, you could actually listen to the TV on its own speakers if you want, say, for casual watching of the Weather Channel or news, for example.
