Sometimes my panasonic NCDK1 kettle works and sometimes it doesn't

A kettle is only a kettle. Coul be a poor contact but is it really worth persuing ... probably not.
Purchase a new one.

look its probably broken or some wires under the kettle cover are damaged so you can buy a new cover and then everything will be okay (Y)

Oxidized or worn thermo-switch contacts.
Or, sometimes old age (kettle!:) or overheating can cause springy contacts to bend out of shape.
Get tech-minded person to open/inspect & renew as required.

There is a wiring short somewhere, likely in your kettle, be brave and take it apart, it has insulated wiring that sometimes scortches and exposes the wiring causing the short You can purchase insulation beeds or new wiring direct from the dealer.

If it uses a detachable base to the kettle tank with electrical contacts, sometimes the base or kettle connector must be replaced. You will need the proper tools and wire connectors to be able to replace these parts.

Technically speaking... These are not worth servicing.

sounds like the element has died. If it's still under warranty, take it back. If it's not under warranty, contact an electrician or appliance repair person. Unless it's an expensive kettle though, it's probably not worthwhile fixing, as elements can sometimes be as expensive as a new kettle

I have the same problem. It started about a week ago and I have to keep flicking the on switch to get it finally working. I think there's a problem with the contact with the base. Not sure if it's worth getting a replacement part for it. It worked well for 4+ yrs!

That means that there is either a lost contact inside, or a defective switch.

The kettle must be taken apart to fix the problem.

make sure there is no build up around contact points, sometimes you can add alittle soder to give it more better connection but you have to have some idea what your doing, good luck
