maker of cook top so they can find the user manual
model or how old helps also

its not a gas cook top
you have the right type of designed pots for that cook top
but you get no heat radiating to the pot base
when pot is in contact with the heat area

How to remove the stove top on frigidaire stove model FFGS3025PS

IF you open the door to the stove, you will see screws under the lip of the cook top, take those out, check the back of the stove for screws and then lift the cook to. On some models you may have to remove the sides of the stove too.

Front right burner has high flame on left and low on right had a service call and GE tech said this is normal so you don't get pot handle hot, sounds absurd to me. Any input

Are the burners uniform around top? Pictures show that there is a slot on one side. The tech is probably right.. You are not the only person complaining about this. Call back and see if there is a different burner that will fit you stove.

Whenever I cook cream soups in my stainless steel pots, they burn on the bottom. I watch them very closely and just have the heat on medium, but they always seem to burn. I recently bought a glass pot to...

I'm assuming this is an electric stove, since that's what the picure shows. Most electric stoves turn the heating element on and off to regulate the temperature. On high the element is on almost all the time, on low it's off most of the time. The problem is that when it's on, it's on at full power, and sometimes this is enough to scorch things like milk based creme soups.

You can do two things:

First, try using a double boiler. This will put water in the lower pan and help keep the heat lower than with a regular pan. You could also try to find a pan with a very thick bottom, and try that. It might work better.

Broke glass on electric genn-air

Please do not use the stove if the element is viable because of broken glass, this could become a danger to yourself.

Look at the cost of a new stove, you should be able to get one for
around 400.00. One of my customers had a glass top with 4 burners,
they had the same thing happen, the cost to replace the top was
1,200.00. So I would assume that you can get a new stove with 4
burners less then it would cost to replace the part on a stove you don't like. Maybe there is a LOWES around you to look at stoves,
they seem to be everywhere, like death and taxes.

As for putting a 4 burner top on a stove that has 2 with grill, I don't think it can be done without the extra cost of adding the parts to run the other 2 burners, so like I said in the long run,it just might be cheaper to but a new stove. It should not be a big deal to remove the exhaust from the grill part of the stove.

I looked at the model# you put down, and it does not have a grill,
from what I see, there are 4 burners and a downdraft vent in between the 4 burners, there are 6 models with this part # and none have a grill, only the downdraft vent.

If the model# is right, the cost would be around 300.00 for the glass, and then the cost of having it replaced. So I would say over
400.00, In which case for the same amount you could have a new one, but you must weigh the difference for yourself and see what you think is the best way to go.
If you have any more questions, please post back and everyone is more than willing to help you. I hope I have helped a little.

3 wire cook top to a 4 wire outlet

Older 3 wire connectors where Wht=Neutral Ground Return, Red=One Phase Hot, Blk=Second Phase Hot, of 220VAC stove connections.

Newer Electrical code standard has a forth wire that is bare copper for a separate safety ground return.
I suggest you but a 4 wire pig tail cable for your stove top, available at Depot or Lowes, and connect 3 wires of this 4 wire cable just like the 3 wires are now connected. The 4th bare copper safety is attached to any metal part of the stove. Find a screw you can loosen to wrap it around and tighten.

CAN YOU USE CAST IRON SKILLETS ON RADIANT GLASS COOK TOPS?

you CAN use the skillet, but not with great results id assume, it holds too much heat, and problaby a bit too rough underneath and would probably scratch the glass top, in a family business for over 20 yrs. now and thats my recomendation, my brother also in the same feild swears his wife uses it with no issues!!!

Just bought a house, no manuals

After a pot spillover, the cleanup process triggered my stove top to "control lock"

I removed the pot and once the stove top cooled I pressed and held the "control lock" button.

It began to blink, I released it and then the light went off and the stove top operated normally.

You might not have to wait for the stove top to cool. I don't know.
