Sounds touch button array on LCD got disconnected due to over use or might have hard scratch on LCD surface, needs to be replaced LCD in your DSC-N2 Let me know if you can replace LCD in this camera to provide you LCD part number info. Thanks.
look at the sensitivity settings (shutter speed), you may have set it too high (set it to auto). Try turning on intelligent exposure to auto/on. Turn intelligent/auto ISO on. Use iA setting for full automatic ono the dial when shooting. As for the message digital pic will go to memory, then that prob means you don't have a SD memory card installed, or it's not formatted, or set to locked.
give those a try.
First, try removing and replacing the camera battery. Sometimes this will reset the settings. If that doesn't work, then you need to reset your camera by removing (and then reinserting) the small internal battery. They call this the "date/time battery" but it is also responsible for saving all your settings when you turn the camera off. This battery is located in a tray on the side of the battery compartment. Follow the instructions on page 38 in your user manual. If you don't have your user manual with you, you can download it from this page at Canon.com
