Tankless require yearly maintenance as covered in manual. They require correct venting, gas pressure and/or electric current, they require specific incoming air quality, incoming water pressure and flow, and can stop working with basic electric problems, plumbing problems due to check valve or sediment blockage in line, or single-handled faucet crossover, and the myriad of sensors and parts each work together in a specific pattern that can be interrupted by any small or large failure, or by multiple half-failures. As a general rule, repairs are not do-it-yourself, and each part has an installation protocol. But it's supposed to last 20 years, while the maintenance, parts and service will exceed the expected 1-8$ per month savings.

I don't know. Tankless problem can be internal and external factors, or combination of factors, and vary by model, and brand.
For example low gas pressure, or gas valve partially closed (gas handle should be parallel to gas line), gas line should be 3/4", venting could be issue, or failed sensor, or gas control, or circuit board.

1) You might have a simple liming problem, requiring deliming by qualified service technician.

sounds like the generator has packed up. check water flow and clean any filters on the water line. you will need a service agent to check milli volts on generator and power pack

i have a bosch 16h hydroflow hot water system that will not ignite.

If the pilot light stays on, the thermocouple and pilot flame are good. If you turn the control to "on" and turn up the thermostatic control knob to call for heating and get nothing else then the control (gas valve, thermostatic control) is bad. The control can be replaced - they are mostly generic except for gas type - but they are not cheap and if the control is bad the tank is probably not far behind (changing the control could cause it to leak). Unless the water heater is less than 3-5 years old, replace the whole thing!

I have just dug my manual out (16H) because mine is faulty. email me and I will photocopy it at work this week and email it back to you.

Installation should be pretty straightforward and the manual's not that in depth. There are however some sections on adjusting the gas and the like that you might want to read over.
