Your backlights aren't on, I didn't look up the set to see if its a LED or LCD but your going to need to look at the circuitry that supplies voltage to the backlights
The backlight inverter is built into the power supply of this unit. When it fades to black screen, do you see any backlight at all? If you do see some light, you have a 'blank screen' problem and the backlight is not the cause. Since you can still hear sound and can control the tv otherwise, the problem is likely in the TCON board. If there is no light coming out, perform a flashlight test (search YouTube for details on this). If you pass the flashlight test, then try replacing the power supply board.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.
1. Symptom: Powers up, relay clicks, LED turns green, backlight comes on but there's no display from any input, and no OSD.
Solution: On the T-Con board labeled 320WTC2LV3.7, stickered J01420PE7F0288, check/replace:
F1 = 2A, 35V SMD (measured 9 Megaohms in circuit) - OK!
it sounds as if you may have a backlight problem..i have two of them that the wire going to the backlight had burnt off at the bulb..I had to take the lcd screen apart to solder the wire back on the blub.. be carefull the lcd screen and bulb are frigile... ther is 4 lights two on the top and two on the bottom..good luck
"Most" newer monitors will let you know if the are no longer receiving a signal. Sounds like the backlight is burnt out. Try getting a bright (LED works best) flashlight and shining it at the screen at all angles to see if you can see any of what you were doing. If the backlight is on the fritz, either return it on warranty or buy a new one.
