Why do Whirlpool Duet washers have such a problem with "over sudsing"? And how to prevent it?

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washer" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.

your not using h,e,detergent,,unit is sudsing up ...wash unit out with 12 to 18 ounces of bleach than change to low sudsing detergent,,,

although this information is for a different model number it should help you troubleshoot your machine as all Duet models have basically the same internal components

The program must be detecting over sudsing. How much detergent are you using? Are you using HE?
If not then the motor will over amp, heatup, and, lock up. If soap is not the issue then you have objects between the tubs causing the problem. Duet sport service manual

My guess is it is detecting suds lock. If the motor stalls due to over-sudsing then the control will make 6 attemps to fix it before ending the cycle. Sometimes if it is unsolvable the control declares an error.
Remove the base panel and find the tech sheet. It gives explanations of error codes and diagnostics. Then do a clean out of your pump filter. It may also solve the problem. More here

turn valve off on the back,The water selenoid needs to be replaced. are you using a low sudsing detergent? Is it HE brand ?

The brand is not so important, but you should look for H E on the label, which stands for High Efficeincy. It is a low sudsing detergent. Do not use more than two tablespoons per load.

www.affresh.com this product has been devoeloped to lessen front loader odors. you NEED to be using an HE detergent. low sudsing ans specifically design for use with front loading washers.

If you are using the recommended HE (High Efficiency) soap, you will not see alot of sudsing, this is normal. The washing action is very different than the top load machines. Excessive sudsing will cause issues with this machines operation.

remove and clean any obstruction or deposits around the inner door seal use H.E. detergent over sudsing can cause that too.
