Why won't my Epson WF-7620 print on thick paper when fed from the rear slot

I followed the instructions and it feeds perfectly but nothing is printed on it when it comes out. All ink cartridges are new & full. It will even pick up the thick paper from Tray 1 and feed it through but still nothing is printed on it when it is finished. Oh and we purchased it brand new yesterday from Harvey Norman... everything else works perfectly but I do a lot of craft and the main reasons we bought this model is for the A3 capacity and the ability to print on card stock.

Are you setting the printer to A3 when you hit print? When you select print you will get a on screen box where you can change options and then confirm by clicking print. Most printers are set to default legal size.

Testimonial: "Hi Blake, thanks for you answer... ok here's the thing... I'm trying to print on A4 size Premium Matt Photo Sticker sheets (which have a backing sheet :P ). Now they are as thick as card stock so naturally I set the print preference to accommodate this. I have tried feeding it through the rear slot and it feed great and goes through all the noise like it's printing but when it spits it out there is nothing printed on the paper... I double checked to make sure I was feeding it with the right side the way it said and still nothing is printed on it. As I said in my question it is a new printer and inks are all full. It prints fine on normal paper and feeds the Photo sticker paper fine but just won't print on it. I know what settings to use as I used to print on the sticker paper before in my old HP print but it's dead so I bought this "you-beaut" Epson and I'm having this problem... Like I said I do a lot of craft so it's not my first time printing on thicker than normal paper just the first time with this particular printer. :D"

How do I print on 11 x 14 paper? According to the online manual, the Epson WF - 7620 does print 11 x 14. And that is why I bought the printer, but I cannot figure it out!

Load A3 size paper on the lower tray.
Verify you see A3 as an option in paper setuo on the printer screen against tray 2.
Make sure you have selected A3 on the software before you print.

Epson WF-7620 will not print black.

I had a similar problem on my 3640 and had to run the clean cycle about 20 or so times. If you feel you are capable, you can also remove the print head and do a manual clean. YouTube has a few videos on how to do it. I have done this to one of my printers with very good success.

Check the print settings. Do you have it set to Photo, Best or economy? Usually this is done in the Epson application and/or at the print window. Higher settings will use more ink.

Without a lot more information from you as to what you are actually doing, I can only suggest you read the section from the extensive manual (which pretty much gives stepxstep instructions) from Epson's online PDF format manual which details how to use the read feed. it is very specific in terms of how to do this. When the back output tray is pulled down, the printer has a straight paper path from the manual feed slot through to the back of the printer. Use this paper feed and output method when you want to print on thick paper, labels or envelopes.

Open the back cover

Open the manual feed slot cover.

Using both hands, slide the manual feed slot paper guides to the width of the paper that you are going to use.

Using both hands, put one piece of paper or one envelope in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper or envelope touches the paper feed roller. When you feel the machine pull in the paper, let go.

• Put the paper into the manual feed slot with the side to be printed face up.
• Make sure that the paper or envelope is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper or the envelope may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
• Do not put more than one piece of paper in the manual feed slot at any one time, as it may cause a jam.
• If you put any Media (paper, envelope and so on) in the manual feed slot before the printer is in the Ready state, the media may be ejected without being printed on.

All my ink cartridges are full, yet anything that needs black ink that is sent from the computer doesn't work. It feeds through and prints everything else but black even with new full cartridges. It copies...

You might try changing preferences in control panel. The defualt for most photo printers is color since that is the most used feature (and sells the most expensive ink!). I finally bought an HP 1000 to use for everyday printing of documents and business items becuase it only needed black and white ink.
