I have a Teledyne Laars lite2 and need to replace the Thermocouple but all the spares do not show my thermocouple. Where can I purchase one?

The thermocouple shown in sketches is not the same as the one I removed. Where can I go to purchase a new thermocouple?

First of all, I'm assuming that your heater has a pilot and not self ignition. You will need a jumper wire ( 16" of wire with an alligator clip on each end)attach one end to the terminal on the gas valve that the red wire from the pilot generator is connected to ( pilot gen. is the thing the pilot flame touches).
Now attach the other end of the jumper to the terminal where the wire from the connects to the knob where you set the water temp).
NOTE:
JUMPING BYPASSES ALL BUILT IN SAFETY DEVICES AND IS FOR TEST LEAVE THE JUMPER CONNECTED TO RUN THE HEATER FOR HEATING PURPOSES!!!!

Teledyne Laars LLG 250 boiler The pilot light goes out for no apparent reason any ideas why

Three basic possibilities - draught, insufficient oxygen available for the flame or interruption of the gas supply - most likely the latter.

Quite likely the pilot flame is either not powerful enough to heat the thermocouple bulb, the thermocouple bulb is out of position and not being heated or the thermocouple is faulty.

I have a Laars Lite 2. When I release the the white button after 30 seconds the pilot will not stay on.Any ideas please. Regards ken wheatley.

You need to replace your thermocouple. It is located next to the pilot orfice, and it is about 2.5 inches long, and 3/8" wide with 2 wires coming from it. the burner tray must be removed to access it, but it is avery easy part to fix yourself. These can be found online, or inyour local pool/spa store, as well as your local HVAC store. its a very common part.

Pilot light won't ignite.

One possible reason could be a bad thermocouple. This is a rod shaped device that is close to the flame. It's function is to turn off the gas if the pilot light goes out. Heat from the flame operates the thermocouple. When the flame goes out the thermocouple cools off and shuts off the gas. When one goes bad it will not let you light the pilot. Here's a picture of what one looks like. There's a bracket that holds it in place.f023fa6.jpg

We have a teledyne gas furnace whose pilot won't stay lit. Any ideas?

Is this a standing pilot,or pilot always on.

If so a bad thermocouple will cause pilot to go out.

Thermocouple is a small copper tube running from the pilot light area to the gas valve. easy to replace.
