My advice isn't expert...

I suggest you scan for viruses and malware first. If nothing is found it could either be a software conflict or the programme has cannibalised parts of windows and/or replaced them with none-windows versions and made it unstable.

You could try System Restore but that has never worked for me. I usually end up formatting the drive and reloading everything.

Putting the system disc in the drive and booting from the disc I think offers a repair solution and it might be worth trying that.

I have used XP for years and I now have a laptop with a respectable specification running Windows 7. I find it slow and temperamental by comparison even though I have reloaded it twice.
The supplied serial doesn't work even though it is an official disc and I sometimes think Microsoft is somehow attacking my computer...

Why not try Linux for gaming?

Each copy of the game has a unique code to install it. If yours did not come with a code, you will have to exchange it at the place of purchase.

Make sure the right cd, is in your drive.

Battlefield Vietnam has the same point by point objectives of Battlefield 1942; there are two teams on either end of a map, each team has a set of "tickets" that they start out with. The teams can deplete the enemy tickets by killing opposing players and/or capturing flags ("control points") on the battlefield. If a player is killed, he can re-spawn on one of the flags that his team owns. Between respawns, players are able to change their character class, effectively switching equipment kits.

Did u get a key code online for installation? If so or even if u didnt u need to get a new code from the company and re-install. (try to re-install first)

when u see the map, u have to select ur spwan point ni tha map.
you will see small circles colored white, select those,a nd choose a spwan point, thats it!

well if you have registered the game...
you should contact EA they will give you all the product keys..!!
if not you will have to use keys which are blacklisted by EA...!!
