"You can sign up for Messenger using your Facebook account. To sign up with your Facebook account, open the Messenger app and tap Login with Facebook.
You can also choose to sign up for Messenger with your mobile phone number. To sign up with your phone number, open the Messenger app, enter your phone number and tap Continue. Once you've confirmed your phone number, add your name and photo to get started. You'll have the option to sync your contacts so you can message anyone in your phone."
