Kicker CVR making strange noise

My 12" Kicker CVR just started has been making a strange noise for a couple weeks. It almost sounds like a cracking distorted type of noise. I turned it off for a week and checked it and it was fine. Then a week later it came back. I check the wire connections and they were loose on the box, tightened them, but still no good.

does the volume of the music affect the noise at all? Does it only occur at higher volumes or at all levels? If you gently but firmly press on the center of the sub, do you hear or feel any scraping or noise? It should travel back and forth with no noise or scraping.

I purchased this kicker saturday. Monday mine made the same weird noise. wednesday i had time to take it back where i got it and they replaced it but as soon as i did it made the same noise. they gave me another one and said if i have problems with it they will replace it. i have a feeling this one will do the same thing. They told me it is a problem with the speaker so maybe try taking it back and telling them what happened and getting a new brand

2 kicker cvr 12's in prewired kicker box with 1 wire terminal, kicker cx1200.1 amp. Whats the best way to wire this combo?

Well you really can't run both speakers on one term. because you will over heat the amp , unless your amp is rated at twice the capability of your subs , Then if so , Try positive to one sub , then neg. to the other sub , then bridge the remaining positive to the remaining negative terminal , But it is really best to get a two channel amp for your subs !!!

What's the best way to wire a 12 inch kicker CVR

Ok, first you need to have at least ten gauge wire cause the amp needs agility of juice. Next you want to find a good ground to frame of the car (if its wrong you'll hear road noise through speaker.) Next look on the fire wall and find the terminal that has other wire coming to it (one from positive to the amplifier on battery the rest out top other you want to put an inline fuse to amp.and have ground write other side of the cart than the power. run write to amp then to your speaker I believe I made it is simple for you as possible good luck

How to wire kenwood amp to kicker cvr 12"

How you wire it depends on how hard you want drive your amp. If your woofer runs 4ohm per coil I would wile it in series (amp +to sub +1 sub -1to sub +2 amp - to sub -2) then run it for a week and see if it has enough power. the lower your Impedance (the resistance load on the amp) the harder your amp works and more THD (noise) is produced. (Dclass amps aren't know for being clean to begin with) configured like this your amp will see 8ohms and sound the clean east. if this turns out to be not enough power wire it in parallel and double the output. wire amp + to sub +1 and +2 then amp - to sub -1 and -2.

A word to the wise... start with your volume very low and work up slowly most speakers will puk up the voice coil before the amp starts to get warmed up. you would hate to have to buy a new sub.

Have fun
