SOURCE: Crash and blue screen with error message

You would first need to make sure Windows does not restart automatically when a blue screen error appears. Then you can analyze the problem and fix the cause.

Have a look at BSDO error fixing.

Hi

You do not say which operating system you are using.

A blue screen can have many causes, so you need to undertake an elimination process to identify the cause.

Most importantly, do not repeatedly keep trying to boot if blue screen keeps appearing, as this could lead to hasrdware failure. It is important to identify and fix the fault as soon as possible.

If you read the full error message, there will usually be an indication of the likely cause of the crash as well as some suggested remedies.

Typical causes are:

Conflict with newly installed software
Driver conflict or corruption
Malware infection
Insufficient Hard Drive space
Operating system corruption
Hard Drive fault
Overheating
Memory corruption
Graphics card fault

Each of these will have a different remedy.

Start by studying the error message in more detail, try the suggested remedy options, then post again with more specific information, if necessary.

Hope this helps.

The Machine Reboots after displaying Blue Screen With Error Message

Windows is entirely in control of any blue screens; so the hardware spec is not relevant yet.
can you try reading your windows event log immediately after a crash? :::Start>all programs>administrative tools>event viewer

you are looking for an error mentioning a filename... C:\windows\~somepath~\Minidump.dmp
If you get yourself a copy of WinDB (here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463009)

You can then open WinDB and open/read that crash dump file (file open crash dump), and it will provide you with a filename of the driver that caused a problem (possibly even tell you what it was doing when it was called).. chances are it's one of the following causing the problem: Graphics Card drivers Storage controller drivers Motherboard drivers (Power Management related issue usually)
If you have the latest driver; then get the hardware checked out...

9 / 10 times that message appears when your hard drive has crashed.

If I were you I would find a 1gb or larger usb flash drive and download and install ubuntu to the flash drive, boot it, then check to see if I could access the hard drive.

If you can't then your hard drive has for sure crashed and will need to be swapped out.

I sucessfully installed windows vista but i cant shoutdown the system its restarting my pc.. is there any way to solve the problem...

Right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > Uncheck "automatically restart" in the System Failure section.
If your restarts are caused by system crashes, Windows will now display a blue screen (of death) with an error message, rather than simply rebooting the computer. This won't fix your problem, but it will help you to identify the problem.Once you have the error message(s) from the blue screen, post back with them.
There is also possibility that one of your hardware compnent is causing this [RAM,Expansion Cards] try using a spare ram if you have or run with one if you have two of them one by one.
Remove any external attachments like printer, scanner, pendrives etc.
Other than this you'll have to contact a service person from the company.

Blue screen with error message on startup

Most likely problem is a physical problem with the hard drive, but could be plenty of other things. Best bet is to back up your information (if possible) and do a fresh windows install, if you continue to get the message after a clean windows install, your hard drive is not stable, and has a problem.

what error message is on the blue screen?

It is possible with a windows disk to do a repair on the operating system without losing your data and programs. However if the hard drive is crashed (physically damaged), the repair mentioned above won't save it.

Some HP's have a built-in restore of windows, accessed by a function key, but beware, it may erase the hard drive before the re-install of windows.
