How do i scan the documents on to my computer

When i press scan, it tells me to check troubleshooting. "No scan options, refer to device documentation"

Be sure that your scanner is connected to your computer using a usb wire. do not try to scan wireless. Also, put the scanner disk back in and you will be all set. just answer the prompts.

1. Click Start ,
2. Click Run and type Msconfig and then click on ok
Will show the new screen of System configuration utility
3 Click on startup option
4. Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .
5. Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
6. Click Apply , and then click Close .
7. Click Restart to restart the computer.

*Note : If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list,
it means the driver was not correctly installed.
You need to reinstall the software.

I have officejet 6500 and it will not scan. Upon pressing scan button, it tells me "no scan options" and that I should refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. I do not know what that means...how...

No scan options.

HI,
this is a very normal problem with this printer..do one thing unplug the USB cable from the printer..then if its not working go unplug the USB cable..insert the CD go to my computer..right click on the cd icon explore>>util>>ccc>>uninstall l2..after that restart the system...do a complete installation..issue will be resolved...

Cannot use scan...when I put a document in the tray and press "start scan" it says " no scan options" and "refer to device documentation" what to do?

You need to have it connected to a computer with the scan software running. The scan options are in the computer. It tells what type of document to scan, how to save it, JPG, PDF, etc. and where to send the scanned image.

Can't Scan

In order to scan it must be connected to your computer with a scanning program running. You can still make copies with the copy function, but it won't scan unless the HP scan software is running.

Unable to scan pic to computer

Im not sure of this ..maybe the scanner driver has been corrupt ...uninstall all existing printer driver on your computer...and install a new compatible one..^_^.
