Klimaire KSWG012H113 Split System Air Conditioner

After about 30 minutes of AC running unit shuts off. Run light blinks 4x. Can turn unit back on and it will run another 30 minutes or so then shut off again. What's the code mean? Any ideas?

I did search internet initially which is how I got to this site. I could only find information on that discussed 1, 2 and 6 flashes. Nothing on 4 flashes. Nothing in the service manual on 4 flashes.

They won't talk to me unless I am a certified HCAC Tech. I will put my gauges on it next weekend and check the current draw on the AC line which should be no more than 9-10 amps.

Check web site for significance of the four flashes. Could be that it is overheating and shutting down due to excessive current consumption.

stumped. If it was overheating and shutting down it would not start up right away like you have indicated. Try speaking on phone to one of their techies.

Bunch of cocksuckers if you ask me. Do not buy any more of their products. Meanwhile, does that unit have a timer or something that could be responsible for the shutdown after 30 minutes?

Yes, the remote will act as a timer. I did a complete reset of the remote thinking that might be the issue. No change. I guess I could try pulling the battery and turning on the unit manually to see if that makes any difference?

  • richie46 Jul 27, 2016

Maybe the timer mechanism is located in the machine and all the remote does is to turn it on/off and program it. See if there is a reset button on the AC itself or remove power to the unit for a few hours and see what happens..

Enigma SLR61-GW. System runs for about 30 mins and then shuts down and a status light blinks 4 times.

Open the front end of the blower.
You will find tow filters that slide out.
Clean them with water and replays them.

Go to the outside one, take a hosepipe and run a strong stream of water thru the radiator until its clean.

This will solve your problem.

Good luck.

I have a Klimaire 1200 btu heat pump split system brand new I installed myself (this is the third one I have installed). It worked fine for a couple of weeks and then the outside unit began to cut off...

Hi,
Often on those types of units they use a sensor to sense the temperature of the return line to prevent liquid floodback...
I am thinking the either there is a shot of really sold coming back soon after startup or that the sensor is bad and is being too sensitive, shutting the unit down when it really does not have too...after it does this once it is more stable and it does not happen again til the end of the cycle...

Actually I think that it may be overcharged and theat is what is causing the problem...
Do you have a very short line set on thsi unit??
Was it setup with a precharged unit and lineset??? or did you build the lineset and then charge it your self???

It has power but it will not turn on

If there is power to the unit and the thermostat is calling for cooling then it sounds like a bad start/run relay problem.

When we turn on our split AC, outside unit is not turning ON

The blinking light is because the unit is waiting for the outdoor unit to come on. If in heating mode, the indoor fan will not run before enough pressure and therefore heat has built up. You should check that the indoor air return sensor is not faulty and therefore preventing the outdoor unit from coming on.

Maytag M6Y18F7A Air Conditioner troble light turns off

you have to open the unit up or atleast see if the fan is failing. The blower motor is usually a double shaft and cool the compressor and also blows the air across the evaporator. Look for the air to stop blowing then the compressor to shake from overheating.
