I have a VIZIO E480-B2 with no picture.

The power light flashes and then goes solid. I checked voltages on the secondary connector and the 5V pins read 4.9V so I think the power board (DPS-167DP) is good. The caps all look good. Could the power board still be the problem?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory ResetF (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Do you have voltage (3.5V) on the PSON terminal when you push the start button on the TV...if you don't its the main board that has failed

Vizio M422i-B1 TV won't turn on. Opened up and checked power supply board but the pins for the 5 volt standby power aren't connected to the cable. How else can I verify the power board is not bad?

You should have 5V on pins 15 and 16 of connector CN9100 of the power supply. If you are not getting any voltages on the connector, the power supply board is bad.

Good morning. I have a Vizio e550i-b2 with no picture or sound but I did the flashlight test and I can see picture. Any idea what I need to fix my issue. thank you so much

Hi,
This model develops bad solder joints on the connector between the power supply and the led driver board and loses backlighting. It's hard to believe, but the whole connection goes bad. All those pins supply only 24v and gnd. Resolder all of them and the tv will work.
It's the connector between that large yellow board (p/s) and the center green board (led driver).

Vizio TV has sound but no picture

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

However, brand name manufacturers often build proprietary power supplies or make up their own color coding, so I wouldn't throw out a power supply that supplies 5V where you think it should supply 3.3V. It's more likely a proprietary design than a failure.
