You need to localize. Play a DVD, does the same audio cutout happen? Do you have the center dvd or the left mounted dvd? The console unit has input jacks for external audio inputs, put an external audio source in and see if the same cutout occurs. See if the external output jacks lose audio or just the system speakers, including subwoofer. This may help localize which unit has the problem.

Is the console stacked above or below other electronic units, it may be a heat related cutout? Reseat all your interconnect cords, I have seen corrosion occur on the square connectors.

These are expensive to have repaired, good luck. If you're daring enough, you make find free service manuals on websites like Elektrotanya, hifimanuals, hifiengine, and eserviceinfo (.com)

The sound on my Bose 321 is cutting in and out every 30 seconds or so.

Try a full system reset to start with:
  1. Turn the system off
  2. Unplug the Acoustimass module power cord from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Reconnect the power cord
  4. Wait for the words "Bose 321" to appear and disappear from the display
  5. Retest the system

Have a Bose 3-2-1 Series III. When I put in a DVD, I get sound through the Bose but no picture on my Pioneer TV. This is the second time it has happened. The first time it, we managed to get it going...

Here are 3 things to try and an if all else fails at the end.

1) Make sure the TV is set to the correct Video Input to see the video from DVDs on the Bose system.
• Make sure a DVD is in the disc tray.
• If the TV is connected to the media center using the HDMI cable:
Switch from one Video Input to another and then back to the original input.

2) Turn everything off, then:
Turn on the TV and set the TV Video Input for the Bose system video.
Turn on the Bose system and press DVD.

3) Turn off both the TV and the Bose system and then:
Unplug the HDMI cable from both ends.
Disconnect the power cables from both your TV and the Bose 321 system.
Re-connect power to the TV and to the Bose 321 system.
When the Bose 321 system startup message disappears from the display,
re-connect the HDMI cable to the TV then Bose 321 system.
Turn on the TV first, then turn on the Bose 321 system.

If all the above fail then disconnect the HDMI cable that connects the TV to the Bose 321 system and reconnect the two using a Component cable, an S-Video cable, or the Composite cable provided with the system.

I have a Bose 321 GS Series II. It's about 5 years old. After about 45 minutes, the sound becomes distorted. It gradually gets worse and worse. Turning the unit off for 10-15 seconds usually resets it;...

I had the Bose 321 same issue call 877-210-3782 they will set U up with shipping "email U the Labels UPS" If out of warranty total price which includes shipping to and fro is 191.28. Better than replacing at over 700 to 1000 bucks hope this helps.

Bose 321 Series III Lateness

This depends on the source. If this happens internally (from a DVD in the 321) then the problem should be able to be resolved by just resetting the 321. (unplug the power cord from the sub for 30+ seconds) -If this is from external sources like a cable box, believe it or not, you can reset the cable box the exact same way. If resets don't fix this (and this is external) then check the cable box's settings for a/v delay compensation.

Non bose dvd player for bose system

In short, you can. I did it last night. My Bose 321 DVD player is junk and it's always been junk, but I love the sound sytem. Last night, after the thing gobbled it's last DVD, I went through the whole, unplug, wait 5 minutes, plug back in, etc. and it still wouldn't eject so I ripped the DVD tray out of the thing with a pair of pliers, recovered my DVD, and slammed the tray back in, stripping all the gears and screwing up the motor in the process.
BUT, I disconnected the video cable from my Bose and plugged it into the video out on my el-cheapo Tru-Tech $99 DVD recorder. Then I ran the audio out cables from the Tru-Tech to the Aux 1 inputs on my Bose 321.
When I want to watch a DVD now, I put the DVD in my Tru-Tech, turn on the Bose, switch it to Aux 1, and I get a great picture and the Bose sound. Best of all, I don't have to plug and unplug that sorry Bose system everytime the wind blows.
They used the absolute cheapest DVD player they could get their hands on--a Toshiba model--for all the Bose 321 older models. Every single person who bought one has had these same troubles and they've made no offer to fix them.
This was my first and last Bose because of that and I hope more people stay away from Bose until they get their act together and protect their customers. $1000 for a system that eats DVDs like M&M's is ridiculous.
