What does yarn round needle lol like

It means an increase or a lace stitch. You put the yarn in front of the needle instead of the back when you knit. This makes a hole and adds a stitch. The next row you usually knit 2 stitches together to combat this. Buy without actually seeing the pattern it' could have a different answer. :-)

How do you increase a stitch in knitting a sweater

Depends where the increase should be. If it is at ther beginning of the row, you just knit twice into the same same stitch. If you Google it there are lots of videos to show the various increases and decreases. Some are fancy and some plain, some are complicated if it involves a pattern. Good luck :-)

I'm knitting the Irish moss stitch in the round and I can't figure out how to decrease the stitches while keeping the pattern.

Probaly have thrown the knittig away by now, but for future reference. If the decreasesare at the end of a row, you will be able to keep th sequence on the next row, if it's in the middle of a row, it's a bit more tricky, you just have to concentrate and match the pattern. I know you will be able to see the decrease, but this is unavoidable if t's in the middle of a row, but at the end of a row or round just follow the pattern, as you would, being careful to match stitches. It's difficult to tell, rather than show. Have you tried to Google it? There may be a video. Good luck. :-)

I am also having a problem with the Chick baby pattern. It says yfd k2, SY2K, k1. Please explain

knt yfd k2 Google Search

SY2K, means slip yarn, knit 2 together. Or yarn over needle and knit 2 together. This means you are not increasing only making pattern

What does KO mean in the knitting pattern Bernat softee Baby pom pom booties

I do not know what kind of pattern that is. If it is an old pattern then it is probably Knit Off. If it is a newer one most likely it is Knit zero.

I am knitting an afghan with Taku mi 13 needles.

are you working a pattern or is it a straight stitch like garter or stockinette?

I would make a stitch gauge sample with the smaller needles to see how many stitches per inch.
Figure out how many stitches you will need to match the width of the current piece.
Take that number and subtract the number of stitches you currently have with the size 13 needles. (new stitch count - original stitch count = difference)
Divide the original number of stitches by the difference.
that is how many stitches I would do between increases

Let me use an example:
Say your original work had 75 stitches
From the gauge sample you know you need 100 stitches to make the same width
100-75=25
Now divide 75 by 25=3
Ffter every third stitch, I would put in an increase
that way the increases should work evenly across your piece.

This will be more challenging if you are working a pattern but the goal is to work the increases in as evenly as possible with as little impact as possible on the pattern being knitted. That might mean doing 2 increases every 6 stitches because it fits the pattern better.

good luck.

How t change knitting instructions 5ply to 8ply

First of all try a guage/tension swatch. Cast on 25 stitches, use 5,5 mm needles and knit stocking stitch for 4 ins. This should tell you if the pattern will work with these needles and yarn.
Count your stitches over the 4 ins and see wht you have to the inch. This is your guage oe=r tension then check with your pattern to see what the guage/tension is.
To change a pattern this drastically needs an experienced knitter
If it is the pattern only that you want. then find a pattern for 8 ply and use the stitch count on the original pattern and modify for the new pattern.I wish you luck.
