I have a Tascam MP-BT1 bass trainer. I have used it successfully for over a year. Suddenly it will not accept songs I drag and drop from my Windows Media song inventory. Can you help.

Sounds to me like a oscillation in some circuit. This is a common issue with unstable circuits that can happen to any Op Amp product device. It can be brought on by a connection issue as well. The noise is best investigated with a scope to find out what it looks like and then to find the problem on the bench. I bet Tascam does not repair it but just replaces a card or board in the unit.
Connect the unit to your computer with the USB. It will show up as an external hard drive. Click on the unit from the menu and you will see 3 folders on the menu. Drag any mp3 music file from your computer to the "Music" folder on the unit. The problem you may run into however is that itunes music are copy righted and many songs on your computer may be mp4. You may need to rip directely from the cd's onto the computer, or even burn to a disc and then rip them back.
if i am not wrong u cant do drop and drag songs in sony walkman series...bcoz along with u r walkman..there s a driver cd..ok..u should install the software wch s supporting u r walkman...then using that software u can send songs to u r set and even u can delete songs frm u r set...its safe to use this software..bcoz drag and drop option s always leads to damage of u r walkman bcoz of infected files...its the same hw the i-pod works...even in i-pod u cant drag and drop songs into it!!!
Just check they are not located inside a folder on your MP-BT1. If so, drag files out of their folders and then delete the folders and MP-BT1 will then recognise them!
I'll tell you why this is happening - playlist from iTunes will not result in proper transferring - use Windows Media Player instead - I heard you can use it on Macintoshes nowadays
Hi, thanks for responding but I did not realize that this was not a free advise website. I do like your concept and you do deserve compensation for your knowledge however, I will just call tech support at TASCAM. Again, thank you.
Perhaps the mp3 files are saved with variable beatrate. Open them in winamp and check if number in front kbps changes while the song is playing. If so than try transferring an mp3 file with constant beatrate. If that solves the problem than you have to convert mp3 files with variable beatrate to constant beatrate. For that you'd need program like this one is www.nch.com.au/switch/
