Maytag Oven model MER5755QAQ has lock on the display and the oven will not operate.

I have replaced the control board today because the old control locked the oven door and we had a difficult time getting it to open.

If one of the position switches on the latch assembly is not reading, the control will sometimes lock because it "thinks" a clean cycle has been initiated, if replacing the control did not fix the lock icon, test the switch... Incorrect temp probe and thermostat failures can also make a control "think" it is in a clean cycle. Have 20 year old Maytag convection wall oven. Model CWE9030B. It started beeping with a F7 display. Did stop beeping with oven light on and door open. Any advice?

The F7 error code indicates that there is a problem with the buttons of the control panel. The code comes on when two or more buttons are stuck at the same time. The oven cannot operate when this condition exists. The oven is repaired by replacing the control panel with a functioning one. You may try to tap on the control panel lightly to see if one of the ttons is stuck down.

MY OVEN DOOR REMAINS LOCKED AFTER CLEANING. I GET A F1 DISPLAYED. I LEFT IT UNPLUGGED ALL NIGHT AND IT STILL SAYS THE SAME THING AND IS LOCKED. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?

I could be more specific with a model number from the range.
The F-1 code on most ranges is a bad electronic control board. The oven lock is controlled through this board.
If you replace the board you should be able to open the oven.
You may also have a blown thermal fuse behind the rear panel on the oven as a result of self-cleaning.
Self cleaning is a nice feature but is not recommended by appliance repair technicians.

Range displays error code f9-5

HI. This indicates that there are serious issues that concern the operational value of the main control abord(ERC/Clock).

This will require you to replace the ERC, asap.

Readout is stuck on 5Ab. Can't do anything with it

Hi.

I am publishing this tip because of the many users asking me about the code 5AB on Amana, Maytag and other ovens.

Error 5AB in fact does not exist , and what you see written on display isnot 5AB.

The beeping sound is a warning because the oven is in lock condition. The oven is not faulty, and the code is not 5AB, but SAB.

SAB means that the oven is in Sabbath mode, and the control board will be locked for 72 hours with SAB on display.

If power is disconnected a new 72 hours cycle will start.

Depending on the model, there may also be a beeping sound when you try to operate the oven.

Push and hold the Clock button for about 10 seconds, until the display clears, that will reset SAB mode.

If that does not work leave the oven connected and off for 72 hours. If the oven does not unlock after three days, then the electronic control may be stuck in SAB mode because it is faulty, in that case contact the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual.

Regards.

Replacing control board

There are two screews onder the shield. You need to get level with the shield to see them. Remove the two screews and it should come off no problem. Now to get in to the controll panel you have to pull the oven out and there are two screews on the back in both top corners to get in side to the control board. Good luck

How do I find the control board in a Maytag MER5755QAQ range?

you have to pull the stove out from the wall. There is a plate on the back that you have to take off and it will expose the clock.

Too hot

more than likely if it isnt shutting off when it reaches temp. then it probably needs a temp sensor or a EOC (electronic oven control). I have replaced many of these boards in the past , usually there is a relay on the board that is stuck. The relay really isn't replaceable and the whole board needs to be replaced. Does the dispay show the temp that the oven acually is or the temp it is set for?
