Copying is very light while scan print fine

When you go to print, your printer driver should have quality options. Make sure you're not using "economy" or "draft" mode. Try "quality" mode.

There is no fuser oil in this machine. Using the display and menu buttons, perform a FULL calibration up to three times and test for improvement. Not sure why upgrading firmware would interfere with scanner operation...it should not, and that would be my next recommendation. Good Luck!

Canon is always bettee than xerox in print/ copy quality

I think the scanner is dirty (and lamp glass inside), try to clean it, gently with a cloth (cotton), fine print that if if that ok

I don't have a solution, but I can add some information to this thread. I had this problem from new. I contacted brother Uk support, and provided them with various samples of printed output included a scanned copy of an orange rail ticket which (a) should be generally available, (b) esatblishes a "standard" and (c) which shows the problem very clearly.

After several weeks the nice chap at brother said roughly "thats the way it is!"

try to change the properties of the printer. Usually it has a configuration to increase the printing quality.

And also, look for the configuration for ink drying wait time. Change it to long.

If you dont have any problems with your cartridge. then i think you should need some adjustments from your configuration.

Make sure the rollers that pull the paper through are clean and that the glass is also clean. Clean the rollers with a cloth dampened with alcohol.

You must change the power supply

Check your copy option,constrast to high and quility to Auto.
after that should be fine.

This print defect can be caused by a foreign object or substance on the outside of the scanner assembly, usually located on the plastic cover that the paper passes over.
