I have a fisher and paykel fridge freezer - the problem being once fridge is opened it keeps beeping and on the front panel it shows a spanner flashing

Does the beeping start immediately or does it follow the designed timing as stated on page 12 of the manual? You would have to check with the manufacturer to see if the feature can be disabled. Page 12 of Fisher Paykel Refrigeration User Guide ManualsOnline com

you may need technican to come out with his laptop an recify the problem it will also detect anyother faults as well.

Check to see if it is closed properly, sometimes something sticking close to the door will keep it cracked open far enough for the system to detect a problem, if that isn't the case, try this, I found a simmilar case here on Fixya, that looks like it was solved,

Your fridge is telling you there is a fault, i'd say one of the 2 fans are not working. If everything is freezing in the bottom of the food compartment then the upper fan is faulty. You have to remove the shelves & remove the rear panel, the fan is in the shute at the bottom, remove, repair the broken wire or replace. Make sure unit is unpluged.

sounds like a sensor faulty will need a tech to recify the problem.

Do you see any ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer or behind it?

beeping when door is open is one of its features the flashing light means someone has tried to set something and not completed the selection just try pushing one of the buttonstill it stops

the beeping is an alarm certain lights on the display will be flashing when it is beeping record which lights are flashing this idicates a fault code then post your results and i will tell you what the fault code is and what the problem is likely to be :)

press the select button ( the button that you choose the temperature on the fridge and freezer) and check that the fan on both fridge and freezer are working.

I would reset the module. Open the fridge door, keep the freezer door closed, then press the mode button (located on the display panel. This will re initiate the electronics
