Erase Memory Hi, I have a Diamond MP3 player (DSM951-1G). I deleted all of my music, it shows "disc empty" in the music file yet I still show 92% of my memory full. I checked all of the files and show nothing. Is there any way of finding where I am being bogged down? Or any way o re-booting the unit? Thanks. I have the same problem with my RCA mp3 player. I can erase everything that is "visible" and still have 300+ MB used. It's crazy. I'd love to erase the drive itself. I need help figuring it out! Ammie

1. Plug your player in using usb cable.
2. Wait and a menu will pop up with several options scroll down to the option "manage with rhapsody" & click to select
3. Create a rhapsody account and note to the left of the screen rhapsody will detect your player
4. Click on your player screen says"RCA ...." your songs will be listed once you click on the words RCA
5. Highlight and delete
6. To avoid this in the future only use media player or rhapsody not both to sync songs to player

certain models let you remove songs directly from the mp3 player but some dont if you plug it in to the computer a file in My Computer should show up called removable disk E where you can treat the mp3 player like any other folder if you right click on the icon for a specific song it will delete it from the mp3 player but it wont show up in the recycle bin because it was never actually on the computers hadrive

Can't delete some of the music on my mp3 that I'm tired of listening too?

Hi Sheri,

Try setting the Insignina player to "File & Folder" mode and then connect it to your PC. It should be seen by the computer as another "Mass Storage Device". You should be able to see your music files this way and delete what you want.

"MTP DB Mismatch Format?"

The Insignia NS-DA2G needs to be placed in File & Folder mode, and you'll need to have your mac show you all files on the device. Macs will create a smaller file that starts with "._" that contain very little information, but can cause problems with Windows based or Windows preferred devices. These files are not ignored by the PC or certain Windows optomized devices. You should erase these files for the unit to perform normally.

If you are unable to delete these files, you can re-format the device to FAT-32 and that will erase all information on the device. You shouls also hit the reset button (located next to the "HOLD" switch) for about 5-10 seconds to clear the internal settings.

How do i delete old music

Ok well usually the MP3 player will show up as a "Drive" in My Computer & as such one may cut, copy, & paste as usual within windows, so.. usually, ya right click the "Drive" and select explore.. then find the Music file(s) you wish, right click it, and select delete. To copy a file.. ya can simply cut & paste to the MP3 player.

No space left even though all files deleted

format your player but make a back up of your music.
