1. You need to have a 4K resolution display.
2, need to have a strong performance of the graphics card, graphics card needs to meet the following standards:
a. Maximum resolution of 4K;
b. Video memory up to 4GB, the larger the resolution, the more video memory;
c. Graphics card bit width at least 256Bit;
d. GPU frequency above 1100MHz;
e. The video memory frequency exceeds 6000MHz.
3. Other hardware reaches mainstream standards:
a. Processor decoding capability is higher than mainstream products (?I5);
b. The hard drive is big enough to hold a movie (a 120-minute movie is close to 100 gigabytes).
BTW, 4K video playback will requires a quality-lossless 4K media player, here is the list of some free 4K video player FYI.

Maybe the 4K discs are protected. What you can do is use some UHD Copy software and make copies of them to remove the protection, so that you can play them on your player.

Simply put, if you get a 4K movie backing Dolby Vision, you would need a player capable of supporting it. Otherwise, you will not be able to take advantage of the higher resolution, HDR or wider color support.
If you really want to play 4K Blu-ray discs, you can simply download Leawo Blu-ray Player. This Blu-ray player actually acts as an all-in-one program including region-free Blu-ray player, free DVD player, free ISO player, free HD video player (including 4K and 1080P), free ISO image file player, and free audio player.

Could be a problem of the region codes on your Blu-ray disc and your Blu-ray player. If the region code on your disc is not the same as the one on your player, then you won't be able to play the disc with your Blu-ray player. Check the region code on your disc and see if it's the same as your Blu-ray player. If they don't match, try making a copy of the original disc with Leawo Blu-ray Copy, it can perform 1:1 lossless Blu-ray copying for you and it removes the region code during the copy, making the copy region free. You can also rip the Blu-ray disc to MP4 to play on your computer. How to Rip and Convert Blu ray to MP4 with Blu ray to MP4 Converter

My Magnavox bluray disc player NB500MG9 will not play bluray dvds. Please help

My Blu-Ray will not play x disc
A Blu-ray player can play DVD or CD and still not play Blu-ray. It may play Blu-ray but not CD or DVD, or burned discs. This is all caused by the 'optical' a part that reads the disc in the machine. Your player will need service as a Blu-ray optic cannot just be 'dropped' into a player.

HP dv9000 won't play Blu ray DVDs

The problem is QuickPlay. Some discs work, but those that didn't, played just fine on my PS3. I had to buy Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra (10 Ultra also plays Blu Ray), and now, they all play on my HP dv4 laptop. Updates won't matter. Don't use QuickPlay, it's very "fical". Hope this saves you time & frustration. It's not you, it's not your Blu Ray drive, or drivers, it's simply the software/program (QuickPlay) that is the problem.
