Samsung pn51d450 blue bar on screen

My Samsung tv has a blue bar that spans the entire bottom of the tv screen. The blue bar is not solid blue, it has some white, bray, black distortion. The bar takes up 1/4 of the television screen and is only on the bottom. i have changed the Y-Main Board and the Y-Buffer Board as well as cleaned the ribbons with a special solution (Deoxit i believe was the name). But this made no difference. any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Xavier Maltese

SOURCE: how hard it is to replace by yourself main board Samsung LN-T4065

You need to do some more diagnosing of the problem. If you get sound and change channels take a bright flashlight and place it again the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image that means the LCD controller board (TCON) is probably good.

The problem is probably one of three causes;
1) Inverter board is bad
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) Power to the inverter board is bad. You can also check the connectors.

SOURCE: My tv Samsung HP-R4252, have Y-Main board

Do you have more specific information on your set, such as the full product model? Such as: HP-R4252X/XAA? What about the version?

This can help, because--as of right now--you are telling me that you put that Philips part into your Samsung TV. The LJ41-02759A is made for a range of Philips sets. They may work, don't get me wrong, but the part # for your Samsung set is: BN96-02033A

I don't have both these boards in front of me, of course, so I can't tell you if they cross or not.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Short circuit on the "Y" sustain board

The problem is heat!!! If the tv has fans they should be checked for normal operation, although on the early samsung models there were none, and the problem is that the panel drive buffers are getting to hot due to inadequate cooling. This is most apperent when tv is mounted to close to the wall, also external fan blowing on the rear left side will dissapate the heat. It is a problem on early Samsung and Electrograph 42 " plasma models. Hope this helps.

I recently had my tv repaired for diode problem,it is a samsung LNT4066FX/XAA flat screen. Now instead of clicking sound and not turning on the power bar at bottom stays blue and the picture has color...

Well the capacitor problem usually causes power up problems. If your tv comes on now it sounds like you dont have the same problem.Vertical lines are usually caused by bad flat panel or dirty ribbon cable contacts on flat panel connections.

Blue circles on images forehead, cheeks and chin.

Try cleaning the contacts on the connectors going into and out of the Tcon board, if that doesn't fix it replace the board, here is the manual if that helps.

Black Bars on all blu ray movies

Hi icmjrtdr,

Having black bars displayed when watching a Blu-Ray disc is a common occurrence, even with a widescreen television.

You may have heard or seen aspect ratios of 4:3 or 16:9. 4:3 is the ratio of a traditional television that is nearly square. 16:9 is the ratio of most widescreen televisions currently marketed. The reason that even with a 16:9 television Blu-Ray discs are displaying black bars is that many of these discs contain footage that has not been reformatted for television. The screen in a movie theater is even wider than 16:9, and rather than trim the ends, most Blu-Ray discs maintain the entire picture.

Depending on the options available in your particular television, you may be able to find a zoom setting that trims the ends and removes the black bars. It is up to you if you would rather see black bars with the entire picture or lose a small amount of the picture on each side for a full-screen experience.

Hope this helps,
Jason,
