My Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base is stuck to the IsoFix connector of the car. It appears that the IsoFix Connector Release Button has broken or moved to a position which won't let it unlock.
The IsoFix Connector Release Button appeared to skip out of place when trying to disconnect the base from the IsoFix. Is there an override function available on the release button so that I can at least remove the base from the car and go and purchase a new one?
Please note I do not want to repair the base. I just want to remove it so I can throw it away and purchase a new one. Can anyone advise how to remove the basePlease note I do not want to repair the base. I just want to remove it so I can throw it away and purchase a new one. Can anyone advise how to remove the base
Unfortunately not Jane... still waiting. I have not yet tried to break it out as suggested by someone else who had a similar problem. I'm sure there must be sometime of override release mechanism so will wait to hear a little longer.Unfortunately not Jane... still waiting. What vehicle is this stuck in? On some vehicles, with a bit of feeling around, you can sometimes access the mount rail from inside the trunk. You might be able to hook the latch with a blunt, flat blade screwdriver enough to release it.
In some countries Maxi-Cosi do have service centres where inspection & repair is possible. You should contact your local Maxi-Cosi office (Facebook or via Maxi-Cosi website, "Contact Us" option) They will be able to advise you.
I don't really know about the Honda element but I do know the maxi cosi is one of the most popular, reliable, trusted, affordable and safest car seats on the market.

The Maxi Cosi CabrioFix can be fitted using the EasyFix base (IsoFix or seatbelt fitted) the EasyBase and EasyBase 2 (fitted with seatbelt only) or the FamilyFix base (IsoFix only). If you do not have IsoFix points you need either an EasyBase or EasyBase 2 to be fitted with seatbelt.
