If the battery is still good, try reloading the software that is available online.

Once Adobe Reader is downloaded and installed, go to Magellan RoadMate 6230 LM Owners Manual English

The electronic components have become defective. It is not worth getting it repaired. Time to buy a new one. If it is still under warranty, you can send it back to the manufacturer for repairs.

What kind of GPS you are doing? I use the OKorder GPS Tracker but cannot start it. The relevant people from OKORDER help me solve it. You can try to contact the customer service if necessary.

Hello Liz, You may have two problems. If your unit is several years old, the battery may need to be replaced. First charge the battery overnight. To get the screen unfrozen , you need to remove the screws on the back, open the case, and unplug the white battery connection . Reconnect the battery connection after a few seconds. If this works, it is usually a temporary fix . Either your battery does not hold a charge or your charger connection is poor at best and can not deliver a full charge to the battery. It could be both.

you have to download the recovery tool for your device and reformat it.

it needs to be done by being hooked up to the computer, but it's a pretty easy process. and free!

tho when i did it, it got stuck on a rebooting loop for forever, but i tried plugging it into smarteco and updating the map, which seems to have fixed the whole thing and it's working fine now.

You need a lock on satellite signals in order for the unit to know where you are. Turn the unit off and back on, if its the first time acquring satellites for the unit, go outside away from tall buildings or trees and let it sit still while it acquires satellites for the first time. It can take anywhere from 1min-15 minutes.

I don't believe that suction cup is meant for your dash... it's meant for your windshield. Try that.
