If the oil level is low, or the oil pump is worn out, this can happen. It indicates a dropping of oil pressure either due to oil moving forward away from the sump (low oil), or reduction of pressure due to lower rpms (worn out pump).
The light is indicating to change the oil.The oil needs to be replaced.The oil level is low.But in some cases,even after replacing the oil,this oil indicator light comes up or remains ON.In that case.

HAVE AUTO ZONE SCAN VECHICLE THEY WILL DO IT FREE.CHECK ENGINE WILL COME ON IF YOU PUT TOO MUCH OIL IN TRUCK WILL CAUSE ENGINE MISFIRE OIL WILL GET ON SPARK PLUGS.TRY THIS RESET YOUR CHANGE OIL LIGHT.TURN IGNITION ON POSITION WITH ENGINE OFF.PRESS BUTTON ON BOTTOM OF SPEEDOMETER AND HOLD BUTTON UNTIL 3 CHIMES SOUND.INDICATING RESETTING IS COMPLETE.THEN TURN OFF IGNITION. IF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL REMAIN ON TAKE VECHICLE TO AUTO ZONE HAVE THEM SCAN VECHICLE OR THE PLACE YOU HAD OIL CHANGE.SHOW THEM CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER THEY CHANGED OIL.HAVE THEM SCAN VECHICLE SEE WHAT WRONG.YOU PAID FOR SERVICE AND YOU GOT ANOTHER PROBLEM.
