Question about Ovens Ovens
I am not familiar with your model of cooker but I assume it is a gas cooker.
Gas cookers have safety devices in the oven and grill the hob rings do not need. I speculate even the domestic oven hasn't escaped the interference from the electronics industry and I expect the aforementioned safety devices depend on (low voltage) electronics and electronics depend on electricity - that the lights aren't working would suggest there is no (low voltage) electricity.
Even in the case of an electric oven the thermostat could be electronic and need (low voltage) electricity to work.
I suspect the internal power supply has failed.

Many thanks Vernon, my oven is electric, the ovens have started working again but no such luck with the grill, do you still think it could be the power supply and if so is that expensive to repair or replace?
It's a 1970's oven with a high level grill
Unlikely the manufacturer would produce a cooker needing multiple low voltage power supplies. A circuit diagram would be an invaluable aid to discovering likely locations of fault(s).
Yes it could still be the power supply inasmuch as it could have multiple outlets or a single supply and one or more junctions or distribution points sending the power to different parts of the cooker. In this case it would indicate a wiring fault or poor connections at one of the distribution points.
Once again many thanks Vernon.
