Do the magenta lines go outside the picture into the white border? If so, the print head has gone bad, and the cost to replace a print head is more than a new printer.
There probably is nothing wrong with your PINK ink-cartridge.
It's one (or two) of the other colour ink-cartridges that either are EMPTY or having CLOGGED ink-jet mechanisms.
1) Could be your printer settings, check out your printer preferences to make sure your not printing a negative or make sure you colour corrections is enabled.
2) If the colour cartridge is a 3 in 1, just one of the colours may have run out. Giving a distorted picture. That means a new cartridge. The best way to check that is to go to your printer tool box and print out a test sheet. There should be 3 colours (Magenta, Yellow and Blue) and Black. If one's missing, the cartridge is out one colour.
I replaced the cartridge but not fixed, so I washed the Cartridge holder in warm water still no good, I then soaked the Cartridge ink holder in metholated spirits for two hours and then washed with warm water dried it off and now it works perfectly.
How to Check if Your Printer Has Run out of Ink
Have
you ever wondered if your printer has run out of a colour? Here's a simple way
to check.
Steps:
1. Go into Microsoft Word.
2. Create four small rectangles.
3. Colour one of them black, another pink, the next turquoise, and the last
yellow.
4. Print!
5. If all of the colours have come out clearly, it means you have enough of
each colour. If one or more are not clear, you need to change them.
6. Save the file in My Documents to run whenever you need to test your printer
cartridges.
7. Run occasionally to work printhead if printer is not used very often.
Tips:
1. To create rectangles in Microsoft Word, bring up the Drawing toolbar on
"View" then "Toolbars", and press the rectangle button. To
colour them in, right-click on them and choose "Format Autoshape"
then choose the colour for the fill.
the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.
either ur blue cartridge is empty or maybe the nozzle of ur blue are clogged .normally the dark blue colour is made up by mixing of blue and pink . because ur nozzles of blue are clogged or maybe the blue is empty it prints only in pink when u command for blues.replace the blue if its empty or clean the nozzles if its clogged.
ur printer prints in blues pinks n purple: its very simple :there r three prime colours in ur colour cartridge that forms all the other colour variation they are cyan, magenta n yellow. ur yellow colour in ur cartridge is either dried or empty thats the reason its not printing the colour variations which requires yellow. the solution is to either get ur colour cartridge refilled or replace ur colour cartridge. rate this solution as fixya n encourage us to help u solve ur problems in future too.thanks 4 using fixya.
