Question about Acer 22" X223w LCD Monitor

Open Question

Display not working, power button LED turns on blue for 1 second and won't turn on again

I've searched the web as well as this site and can't find my exact issue anywhere. I hope I'm not duplicating this question though. My X223W monitor is pushing 6 years old. It was working perfectly 4 weeks ago before a 1 week trip. When I returned, I pressed the power button to turn it on. The power buttom LED simply turned on blue and then turned off after 1 second. I get NOTHING on the display itself, not even a flicker nor the Acer logo. Pressing the power button again got nothing - not even the 1-second power button light. I unplugged the monitor, plugged it into a wall outlet it was plugged into a power strip the whole week I was gone, tried the power button again, but got NOTHING. Not even the 1 second power button LED. Here is what I have tried to fix this: 1. Tried 3 different power cables that are confirmed working - nothing. 2. Tried 2 different outlets that are also confirmed working - nothing. 3. Tried unplugging the monitor, holding the power button for 10 seconds to do a reset - nothing. Although, this did accomplish restarting the cycle in which I am able to get the power button LED to do its 1 second turn on/off again. Still nothing on the display, though. 4. Took apart the monitor to look at the power supply board capacitors. None of them were blown, bulging, or looking strange at all, but I ordered a kit online to replace them anyway. When done, I triple checked my solder points, cap orientation, uF size of each cap, and re-connection of all cables - all good. But, the symptom is exactly the same. Same 1 second power button LED turning on/off with nothing on the display. Because of the age of the monitor, I think I'll likely just buy a new Acer. But, I'd love to fix this one eventually so that I could maybe end up with two displays. Is there another component I should be looking at that might cause this? Should I replace the entire power board? Is in an inverter? The logic board perhaps? Any advice would be welcome.

Intel DESKTOP BOARD D945GPB-Win XP Home Edition OS. All web searches keep crossref. all other boards D945G* or D945G**. No mention of D945GPB anywhere on net or Intel Site.

Boot up computer from being off and press pause key right top hand side of keyboard when the bios number comes up on the screen. Pause boot up and read the bios number that is displayed during the P.O.S.T sequence of your Bios start up.
Then try googling the Bios number to get the exact motherboard involved.

Good luck !

I was having this exact same issue. I held down the 'e' button and let it re-auto config and it seemed to clear up the problem.

Have a Acer x223w monitor and it fades to white and then fade to black. I looked at the caps and nothing look blown on both boards. When I turn on the monitor the acer pops up and no signal look fine. But...

Have you verified that the problem is indeed your monitor and not the video card on your PC? i would start by connecting the monitor to a laptop or another PC to verify that the same issue occurs no matter what the source. Once you've verified that, you're likely dealing with a monitor that requires repair or replacement. Hopefully it's under warranty. Hope this helps a bit.

I LOST MY LOGITECH WEBCAM DRIVER N231.M/N:V-UBQ42 P/N:860-000091.PID:-LZ815BP. HOW CAN I INSTTAL? HOW CAN I SEARCH? HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE?

Is there any way you can be a little more specific. What is the exact model name for this Logitech Web-cam? If you are unsure though you can click here to go to a web site called driverwhiz.com that has a program that once installed searches your PC for any Logitech product and downloads and installs the latest drivers for it.

Hello,

This problem is caused by a defective power supply. The unit is still under warranty so you will need to contact Acer to get it serviced. We web site is www.Acer.com click on the service link and they will set up a return authorization for you. The normal repair time is 7-10 days including shipping times.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

I searched gateway's website but they're pretty tight lipped about their service guides. I did find this link to some pdf files, even though it's not your exact model, you might find some useful info there. Hope this helps and good luck. If I 'fixed ya' please rate me.Thanks.-jmattes ( just copy and paste the link into your browser) http://tim.id.au/laptops/gateway/

I have a x223w monitor that if you try to set higher than1280 x 768 it stretches eveything horizontally

Does your video-card allow you to set a resolution of 1680 by 1050?
(This is exactly 16 pixels horizontally for each 10 pixels vertically.)
This is the "native" resolution of the X223W monitor.

If not, pick a supported resolution that keeps the 16-to-10 ratio.

There are a number of sites on the web that list tasks that will be listed in your Task Manager and explain what they are. Here is one of the better sites:

http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm

If you have tasks not listed there a search should get you another site that will list it. You should check each of your tasks and then decide which ones you can do without.

Hi peonygirl_56

If it's only a couple of sites you experience this with then it may be the sites that are having the problem and you would need to contact the owners of those sites.

You could also run through the steps found at Microsoft to see if your issue is resolved using any of those
