SOURCE: jensen flip out head unit volume knob doesn't work

it needs to be serviced by jensen or some other repair facility. there is nothing you will be able to do to get the knob to work. if it plays cd's and not dvd's thats also an issue that you can't fix by yourself. if it doesn't play cd's or dvd's then you can TRY to run an optical cleaner through it. its a cd player cleaner kit you can get at most electronics stores.

SOURCE: my jensen vm9214 wont play

This is one video lock condition that you need to bypassed. In THIS LINK can find the solution: Jensen-Video-Bypass-Lockout-VM9214-VM9414-VM9324

I heard this same problem, if it plays when its parked then it has a little safety feature that involves a wire, maybe pink in color for your headunit that will only allow it to play when parked. Now if you splice it into the red or yellow, I'd choose red since its not constant, it will play movies anytime.

If it won't play them even when parked then it is not hooked up to a wire or its hooked up to ground and therefor should be hooked to a positive wire, red or yellow. If you didn't put it in yourself then you can take it to an audio shop, maybe check in phonebook for someone local.

But the easy way would be to use a bypass code since there is ojne for your hu. I copy these instructions from ecoustics.com The parking brake bypass procedure is as follows:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6: Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

I don't know if it really works but you could try it, if not use the wiring method above: ecoustics.com/bbs/4/278797.

Hope helps.

Did you connect the power, ground and accessory? When doing a bench test for operation, these wires need to be connected.

Why is my My Jensen VM9214 stuck on camera mode

Check your wires, theres a wire for the reverse if your going to use a back up camera, if not do not connect it, you may have had it connected through a speaker wire, if so then thats your issue and once you wire it up right it wont do that any more, had the same issue and thats what fixed it hope this helps

My remote will not work. never has and i bought it brand new.

Check and make sure the battery is installed in the remote. If it is installed, check for the correct installation. If this is correct, replace the battery. If it still doesn't work, you might have a faulty remote.

Red light comes on but the unit wount turn on

The red light is associated with the memory (constant 12 volt power). You also need switched 12 volt power (power with key turned to accessory)for the unit to turn on. If you installed the system yourself, you are looking for 12 volts on the red wire of the Jensen unit. If power exists at the unit, check the fuse of the unit and the fuse of the vehcile.

You need the Jenson BTM15 (bluetooth module) and the Jensen NAV105 (gps) in order to have navigation and bluetooth connectivity thru this head unit.

These units sell for around $50 (btm15) and $200 (nav102) on amazon.com

Willplay fine but when i raise the volume passed thirty it shuts off compleatly and then it comes back on.

Check the power and ground wires going to the head unit. I have seen this problem before, and in those cases it was due to the battery not supplying enough power and the power wire being too small. Try using 6-8 gauge wire for the power and ground.

Remote works, but not the reciever

This one is tough one. It soundslike you have lost the connection between the flip face and the main head unit. I suggest you pull the head unit and get it to a bench for closer investigation. Look for and tears in the connecting wire harness between the Flip control, and the main Unit.
