Question about Bose Cinemate Digital Home Theater System Speaker

Bose Cinemate Home Theater

Hi! The Interface Module on my Bose system won't turn on. I've checked all the connections and everything seems fine. I put fresh batteries in the remote control (it controls everything else just fine), and have even placed it up against the module. The LED just stays red.

I have the same problem. I have unplugged it, reseated all the cords, and still all I have is a red light and no sound. This is such a bummer. It's 2 months old.

I have the same problem, the light stays red. I have pushed the on button so many times that my finger is sore. Have tried the unplug to reset idea so many times that I am wearing out the socket. Have even tried a different socket. No luck. I hate to throw the system away. If I could just plug the speakers into my TV, I would be somewhat happy, but of course, the connectors don't fit into the TV. To make things worse, I live in Southeast Louisiana, and the closest service center is in Texas.

Guys... add one more to the list... i think lack of use or the system being inactive might contribute to it. Mine wasn't in use for about 3 months, and now it's just NOT working or responding.... I'm taking it to the bose store locally tomorrow, but they're saying they're just going to do all the things they told me to do over the phone.... we'll see...

Friend sent ma a Cinemate, ah, a good friend! He said he got from Bose as a factory refurb. I love the thing. Had been eying a 3-2-1, but thought it too pricey even though it would solve the monster wiring issue and has a receiver too. I was considering getting a Cinemate.
Anyway, a violent t-storm brewed up so I unplugged power from TV; also Comcast cables. Cinemate, TV and DVD player are isolated via a UPS, but I unplugged that too. Brougt it back up after storm and speaker volume was low and I couldn't change it w/remote even though green light on module was on . Clicked the Bose On/Off buton and the module went red. After that couldn't get it working again. Yea I unplugged it and waited w/no luck. However, remote still controlls TV and DVD player, but without volume.
Took the base thing apart and verified the PS thermister was okay. It's like the interface module loses it's programming or something (no easy way to open it up to check anything w/o destroying it).
Stumbled on FixYa, and pretty downhearted it may not last if I buy replacement module.

I had the same problem. The Cinemate system wouldn't turn on.  I unplugged the system and plugged in back in...and it works!

Had the same problem. Unplugging and plugging back in worked.

I got the same problem with no idea what to do to remedy it. Bose should have simply made a power switch on these units (they got smart and did it for the newest version...see bose website).

No luck with all the above....I called bose and they sent me a new interface mod. about a month later the new one now has the same prob. I called again and their solution was to send at their expense the bass mod and interface for repair and new 1 yr warranty. I know its not from over is only used on avg. 2 x's per week for a few hours. Maybe it's lack of use...that's when it seems not to work any longer...when I haven't used it over a long period of time. All I can say is call Bose.

Hello everyone! The Bose interface module is working again. All I did was unplug the power, wait about a minute and then plugged it back in. Whatever it did, it must have reset itself, so now everything is fine.

What do you do when the interface module keeps blinking

you probably have to have the interface module replaced. Pretty common on this model for those to go bad. If you contact Bose, they will repair it for a flat rate fee.

Bose cinematic autoshut off

The device which sends Audio to Bose causing this issue. I have my Bose Cinemate connected to TV and it will remain until I switch off Bose Interface via remote (Even TV is switched off).

Overheating cause this issue, so keep the Cinemate to have some space to cool.

I am having a Bose Cinamate Digital Home Theater. Original remote of this was lost and bought a new Bose Solo/cinemate system universal remote. It doesn't function with the interface. Will it real

If you can't get this to work, I suggest you try to return the remote and buy and harmony remote. For me it worked very well with everything including old audio amps and you can configure your own activities.

Bose Cinemate green led won't come on.

Do the same thing by unplugging the power, but also unplug the interface module (box with red/green LED light) from the sub woofer / bass module, and wait 30+ seconds. Plug the interface module back in first, and screw it in as tight as possible. Then plug the power back in and try the remote. This should fix your problem. :)
If this doesn't fix it, you will have to purchase/replace this module through Bose. (anywhere from $40-$60 if not under 1-yr warranty.) If you're still under warranty, it's a free replacement.
