Front load gallery series controller repair

We have only had to machine about 5 years and the controller is out & will cost $400 to fix. Is it worth fixing? I have looked at reviews of a LOT of models recommended by comsumer reports & reading the reviews makes me want to fix the one I have. Any advice? Thx!

I would say yes, its worth keeping. Mine leaked a while ago and I bought a new pump assembly. I think it was about $70. You can remove the two screws on the bottom of the bottom face plate and remove the cover. The pump is on the right side. Look for goo leaking out of the shaft seal. Verify before you buy parts, It could be the rubber boot torn or something similar.
Don't reach inside untill its unplugged.
You can replace the shocks easily too. Lots of parts places online with illustrated parts catalogs.

Are my washer and dryers able to be stacked?

if they are both front load, you can stack them, but you probably will have to have a special stand made, and a ladder to reach the controls. If you have a HE front load washer, it would not be worth stacking, because it will break and it will be harder to repair. But most likely you will buy a new one once you find out how much it costs to repair a HE front load washer. They may save water, but they run twice as long and do not clean as good and will break and the repair will cost likely cost as much as the washer. Either a circuit board will burn up or the rear bearing will go bad. The larger capacity the faster the bearing will wear out. If you just bought it, I would send it back and buy a top load commercial machine or front load, but not in a box store. I got 28 years from my old model and my dryer is over 30 years and never had a problem and still looks new. If you get 5 or 10 years from a front load, consider yourself lucky

Most likely main control board problem and they are very costly and it is cheaper to buy top load washer for price of parts

Our 7 year old maytag washer won't aggatate , is this worth fixing?

Only you can answer that. The belt costs about $10 and a new machine costs from $400. If the transmission is out, thet can be purchased for about $100.

can be fixed but not easy drum is composite unit front and back hemisphere rear needs changing complete with seal and bearings if machine more than 5 years old probably uneconmic to repair about 300 dollars

Yes, you should. The Frigidaire Gallery is a wonderful unit and PLEASE...buy the extended warranty! You'll be glad you did just simply because you will not have to worry for 5 years about repairs. Repairs can be as a result of storms in your area. The best of luck to you!

Noisy Frigidaire front load washing machine.

comming from a Sears Tech,,, ME
he is right. the main bearring is done.
the part in canada costs 149.99
the issue is USUALLY caused by poor quality of water (well water)
or improper detergent.
a "HE" type detergent must be used in this machine. or this issue will come up afer about 5 yrs.
its not too bad of a job to do, takes 1 person about 1.5 hrs.. and does cost roughly 500 to fix.
It might be worth it to go and buy a newer frontload washer that this is not as much of an issue with.
but it is not worthless to fix, providing the proper detergent is used in it all the time.

Dirt streaks appear after laundering

Grease seal for the bearings need to be replace. Unless you are a DIYer this is an expensive repair. Labor to install a new grease seal is about 400 to 500 dollars depending on the area. Parts will run about 100 to 150 dollars. The grease seal is cheap about a $10.00 part, but since ypou have the washer torn apart, and the grease seal has fail, you should also replace the bearings.
