It seems to be a compatibility problem. Check both operation manuals and follow instructions contained there.

Hi there

you have the no signal error

This needs to be Fixed.

you can send the console to Nintendo for free if in warranty, if out of warranty then this will cost you around $150, the whole process will take 4-6 weeks

I prefer the Wii repair guide Method, download the guide and follow the simple step by step instructions and fix the problem in less than an hour, no hassle, low cost everybody is happy.

Nintendo Wii works fine on standard tv but not on hdtv.

FOUND THE PROBLEM !!!!! The problem appears to be the Freeview somehow interfering with the Wii signal. When the aeriel lead is removed the Wii works fine, and the audio/visual signal is great. When the aeriel lead is in I have the problems. I hope this solution proves to be of use to anyone else having similar problems.

Input 6 - HD Input - Green Screen. Audio Only. No picture.

Hi there,
I am having a similar problem with the inputs. I have a cable box plugged in to cable antenna, DVD to video 6 using HDMI, Mac computer plugged in to video 7 - using HDMI (TV does not recognize this) and then Nintendo Wii hooked up to Video 1. My problem is that Sony only realizes 2 additional components like the video 1 (wii) and DVD on video 6, it does not play the other components. I have to niw manually switch the cables to have them work...

No picture from wii

The RX-V800 switches the various video signal types separately.
Since you are feeding S-Video to the TV the composite (yellow) input from your Wii is not going anywhere.
If you cant get S-Video output from the Wii then I'd suggest a simple Composite to S-video adaptor plug ($5 say). It worked for me with a Game Cube.

Installation of wii

I had the same problem on a 32" rca crt. It worked fine, power was cut during electrical work and when it came back, "unusable signal." I went into the menu, then channel, then video input source. had to change it to the correct input "s-video in my case" Then it worked. GOOD LUCK!

Wii component cable

Not knowing the Wii, but being familiar with the symptom, I would guess there is a setting change in the menu of the Wii that will let you choose component or composite output. It sounds exactly like a composite signal is being fed, over the component cables, to a component input. Check the menu settings and consult the manual for hooking the Wii up to a component television.
