Hello,
The 50.2 error means your fuser is not heating up. You will need to order either just the fuser HP Part # RG5-7060 or the maintenance kit HP part # Q1860-69002. Check your local computer store or we can ship the parts to you. If you need additional information contact me at our web site below.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Hi ...

A 50.4 error indicates that the fuser is reporting an error condition. The fuser has a temperature range in which it is designed to operate. If the fuser becomes too hot or fails to attain the correct temperature, a 50.x error will appear on the Control Panel. Troubleshooting this error involves a process of elimination, starting with the most common cause, which is normally directly fuser related. The following can cause 50.4 errors:

  • The fuser experiences a temporary spike in temperature. As a safety feature the DC Controller will trigger the 50.4 error on the Control Panel, and the printer will not print.
  • Printing on some kind of unsupported media. Unsupported transparencies can get wrapped up in the fuser. Once it gets bound up and will not turn, the printer will display a 50.4 error.
  • An issue with the power circuit for the printer can cause a 50.4 error. Any interruption, inconsistency, or lack of sufficient line voltage to the printer can trigger a 50.4 error.

Lynda,

A 50.2 error is a Fuser Warmup error. Try these steps:

  1. Verify the power source for the printer is in the wall outlet.
  2. Turn the printer off and unplug it for 30 minutes; then turn the power back on.
  3. Try a different power cord. DO NOT use extension cords to plug the printer in.
  4. Remove the surge protector or UPS/CVT device and connect the printer directly to a power source.
  5. Try a different electrical circuit. There could be an issue with the line voltage going into the printer from the power source.
  6. Turn the printer off and unplug it. Let it sit for 30 minutes to let the fuser cool off. WARNING: The fuser may still be hot.
  7. Remove and reseat the fuser.
    1. Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord.
    2. Open the rear door of the printer by pressing inward on two tabs located on the rear door.
    3. Unclip the black strap from the rear door and lay the back door flat.
    4. Locate two screws on the bottom left and right of the fuser and remove them.
    5. Pull the fuser straight out and inspect it for media or other obstructions.
    6. Reinstall the fuser.
    7. Turn the printer back on.
If still a problem, have the printer serviced.
Hope this helps.

Machine error 50

On a Brother printer Error 50 typically means that the Fuser is malfunctioning.

Turn the printer off for about 5 minutes. Then turn the printer back on and wait for about 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes the printer doe not recover, you will need to replace the fuser unit. May be more economical to replace the whole printer.

50.A FUSER ERROR

The "FUSER" unit uses heat to melt the dry toner-ink into the paper, to permanently lock the ink into place.

So, a "FUSER ERROR" means that it is not heating-up to the required temperate.

Contact your local HP office, and get them to dispatch a service technician to come to your office to make repairs.

Hi there! The error code 50 means bad fuser lamp. The fuser is the part of the printer that is fusing the toner to the paper. If you open you back door of the printer you will see two rollers. One pressure and one fusing.Inside the fusing roller is the lamp. When you start up your printer keep the back door open and look if the lamp goes ON.If nothing happens you need to call a service help and to replace the lamp with a new one.If the lamp goes ON but the error is there, that means your heat senor has broken and need replacing. If you have any other questions please replay!!!

The printer is HP LaserJet III . Please - what means the message "50 service " on the panel ? Thank you! MP

A 50.4 code is bad line voltage. Don't plug it in a surge protector.
Any other 50 error is a fuser problem. Turn the printer off for at least 10 minutes. Power it back on. If the error returns, replace the fuser.

We have a Canon IR400S with the following error message - Switch main power on & off, E005. Switching power on & off did not clear error. Can you tell me what the error message means?

The error message means that the Fuser web has a problem. This is the part that cleans the upper fuser roller on the copier. It's located inside the left door of the copier and more than likely requires a copier technician to replace it. Fuser webs(belts) gradually get consumed after about 100,000 prints. The other possibility is that you may have had a brown-out or some other kind of power fluctuation in your area and the error just needs to be reset in service mode, but I'd check the first solution 1st, the part is cheap $25-$50.

I can't print anything, and it says 50 service

This is a fuser error. It means the the fusing unit is not heating up properly. This is the unit that gets hot and fixes the toner onto the paper just before the paper exits the machine. Easy to swap out if you can find a fuser unit.

Hp 3550 fuser error 50.1 and it is cold.

Hello,
The fuser error 50 means that the fuser heater lamp is blown and you need to get another one (whole assembly). I personally use printerworks at www.printerworks.com to order a new one if you want to do it yourself, otherwise you will need to drop it off at an HP Authorized repair center..

Good Luck!

ON AN HP LASERJET III PRINTER WHAT IS A '50 SERVICE ERROR'

The 50 SERVICE error means that either the fuser has not warmed up. It can be due to a bad fuser bulb, connections, or the power supply.

Reset the machine by leaving the power off for at least 15 minutes, if the error comes back after turning the printer on, you have parts that need to be replaced.

call an expert from HP to replace the parts :)
