With most cameras, simply inserting a compatible, formatted memory card into the slot will make the camera use the card instead of the internal memory.
If this doesn't do it, please reply to this post giving the make and model of your camera and the type and size of your memory card.
I put in sd card and it says processing and does nothing wont even go off you have to open the battery place but it will take pic with no sd card in it on the internal memory
The trouble is you've used the internal memory and now your camera is set to use it and not your memory card. You must remove your card, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen directions to format the internal memory. Then insert your card and promise never to use the internal memory again.
On most cameras, once you start to use the internal memory, the camera doesn't want to read a memory card. You need to go into the menu and "reset" the camera. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and "format" the internal memory. Then, insert the card and "format" it. This will erase it so download any pics first.
Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB)
The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card. You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.
the socket where card is installed may have internal loose element so its not detecting.check out the card in another device and also check another card in your device.this will confirm the fault.
Make sure the card is fully pushed in; otherwise it could be the reader. You could try to insert the card into an external card reader connected to a PC. If it is recognized by windows, click "format". If that works put the card back into the camera. If it is now recognized, go to "menu" and format again with the camera. If the card is not recognized, your internal card reader seems to be faulty.
memory card d is not recognized by camera
