My Danby portable air conditioner DPA120B1WB won't turn on, it just has a red light on. I reset it and it just turns back off and will not turn on again. Any ideas?

This may sound foolish but it works turn the unplugged air conditioner upside down and leave it that way for about hour and a half , then turn it back over after the hour and a half let sit for half hour plug it in and it should blow cold air , by turning it upside down it allows the oil in compresser to flow
Hi There, I have just spoken to one of our technicians and he said that if the there is a red blinking light that usually means that the bucket or drainage system is full. If that is not the issue, it could be a malfunction in the touch pad. If the issue is not the bucket, please contact our customer service department regarding repair. (1-800-26-Danby) We are available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4pm EST.
Jim, turn the unit OFF & unplug it for 15 minutes, Once the time has elapsed, plug the unit in and turn it ON. During that timeout, the electronics should have reset and reverted back to the original factory settings. If so, you can set the controls as you wish.
You may need to reset the unit, if you did not turn it OFF & unplug it when you drained the tanks To reset the units electronics, turn the unit OFF and unplug it for 15 minutes. After the time has elapsed, plug the unit in & turn it ON. The electronics should have reset and reverted back to the original factory settings. If so, you can adjust the settings to where you like.
Assuming you have drained the tank and replaced the drain plug. Turn the unit OFF and Unplug it for 10 minutes. Then plug the unit back in and turn the unit ON. During that 10 minute time out, the unit's electronics should have reset and reverted back to the original factory settings. At this point you can set the controls as you like.
Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
If the unit was set in Automatic Timer Mode, it will not turn ON until the set time is reached. Try deactivating the Timer Mode. If that doesn't work. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes. During this timeout, the unit should have time to reset itself, so that when you plug it back in and turn it ON, it will have reverted back to the original factory settings.
New or used? Is is plugged in? Is there electric at the plug? Plug a light in there and make sure it works as a test. Next, check the water pan to make sure it is not full of water. There is a switch there that could be causing the problem.
