I have to go to Gallery, go to the photo I want to send, select Share, then select the Messaging app. On my Messaging app there isn't a way from selecting a photo.
For receiving photos, see if they are automatically put in your folder, like contact info is put directly in your contacts list without even opening the message - and if you did open it, it would show a blank message.

There are actually multiple possible issues that are occurring. First, if you are using an iphone you need to make sure that the sms settings are enabled under your messages section in the phones settings. If you are using anything else you may have the incorrect apn settings installed. Google " APN settings for (device) with (carrier). Third your carrier may be having a network issue.

SOURCE: I cannot send sms in my Motorola c261

Check that your Band Setting is correct.Press the centre key then >Settings>Network>Band Selection>900/1800 or 850/1900.Your band setting is dependent on your region.Set it accordingly.I hope this fixes your problem.

SOURCE: cannot send SMS, but can receive same.

This is a common problem that lies in a number that is stored in your phone. Most providers call this the "Service Center Number". It can be found in your messaging settings. Just call your provider and they can walk you through putting the correct number in the phone. Keep in mind that whatever number they give you, you should have a + in front of it.

Under settings/message, make sure "show sms subject" is switched to ON.

I'm not recieving pictures through sms what do i

You just can't send pictures in a SMS, but if your phone supports sending photos it should send the message as MMS. Normally, a phone that supports MMS should automatically stick to MMS writing mode when attaching a file and it should also inform you about that. But if you aren't sure how much that would cost to send a MMS at your provider, it would be good for you you would look that up first.

I'm using Nokia 2700 Classic. I've a problem with

this is not really a problem but understanding should be clear:
Multimedia Messaging Service(MMS)

MMS is a descendant of SMS (Short Messaging Service). MMS extends text messaging to include longer text, graphics, photos, audio clips, video clips, or any combination of the above, within certain size limits.

MMS is frequently used to send photos and videos from camera phones to other MMS phones or email accounts. Most camera phones have MMS, but many non-camera phones have it as well.

if it has a photo, video or audio it will automatically be categorize as MMS
While SMS stands for short message service. SMS is also often referred to as texting, sending text messages or text messaging. The service allows for short text messages to be sent from one cell phone to another cell phone or from the Web to another cell phone. purely text:

I send a SMS but the destination only sees an empty sms received

Send yourself a SMS - is that blank too? If not, then it's your friend who has the problem. Try sending SMS to another person too. Is that ok?

Samsung Mobile Phone;Model SGH-i200 will not retrieve incoming mms photos and will not send photos attached to sms (says I need to set up profile??) Thanks

It's one of two things. 1: the programing in your phone might be messed up, so you may have to take it into your provider store. Odds are though there won't be anyone smart enough to do anything about it (even though they do have the capabilities), so you might have to send it to the manufacturer. 2: Most likely your provider has blocked your internet service. Most smart phones can't send or receive MMS's if the subscriber decides to cancel there internet services. I think it's just a way to get you to pay for something you don't want. Non smart phones (that don't even have internet capabilities) are able to send and receive MMS's without having to pay for internet service at all, unfortunately most phones now are smart phone based even if they're not called as such. You don't have to get a plan for internet service, but you will end up paying for each kb you use to send and receive each MMS. If you do send and receive a lot of them you might actually be better of getting an internet plan. Ether way it sucks that we have to pay twice. I mean if we pay to send why does the other person have to pay to receive? Isn't it already payed for? Even when it's physical we don't pay to receive a package as well.
