SOURCE: engaging the blades / PTO

There is either a yellow toggle switch or a yellow knob type switch on the dash panel that will engage your deck unless some of the safety switches are stopping it from working due to an adjustment problem or a defective switch, let me know if you need more help.

SOURCE: What causes JD 260 riding mower to start dying

It's the safety system that causes this. There is a switch under the seat that should activate when you are sitting in the seat. The switch can come loose or fail, the mounting can break, or the wires can come loose - any of these would cause the "engine dies when I engage the mower deck" behavior. Lift the seat, examine the switch. Rmove the switch and keep the plunger in with a piece of tape. Fixed? Then it's just the mounting or adjustment. Not fixed? It's the switch itself or the wires or connectors to it.

PTO will not engage riding mower blades on MTD 13AH762F752.

ed, be sure there is nothing wrapped around the blades. lower the deck and be sure the belt is around all of the pullys. If the belt comes off one of the pulleys or the pulley on the engine it may feel normal but it wont engage the blades.

Mtd manual

MTD uses several different configurations. Electric PTO's are tensioned all the time by an idler pulley on a spring loaded bracket. Manual PTO's with an engagement lever have a movable bracket attached to the lever via a cable that will tension the belt when the lever is engaged. Another configuration is the deck engages when the deck is lowered with the deck height lever and disengaged when the deck is raised. In this case the belt is tensioned by a large spring from the rear deck support bracket to a mount on the transaxle and tension is released by a rod that pull the deck forward when it is raised.

Kubota f3060 How do you release the pto to allow removal of the front mower deck

Releasing the PTO (Power Take Off) on a Kubota F3060 tractor to allow removal of the front mower deck can typically be done by following these steps:
  1. Park the tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  2. Locate the PTO engagement lever, it's usually located near the operator's seat or on the right side of the tractor.
  3. To release the PTO, move the engagement lever to the "disengaged" position.
  4. Once the PTO is disengaged, you should be able to remove the mower deck.
  5. To remove the mower deck, locate the lift lever, which is usually located near the operator's seat, and raise the mower deck to the highest position.
  6. Locate the deck attachment points, they are usually located on the front and rear of the deck.
  7. Remove any pins, bolts or clamps that are holding the deck to the tractor.
  8. Carefully remove the deck from the tractor.
It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and use the right tools and equipment when working on the machine. If you are not familiar with the mechanical systems, it's best to take the machine to a qualified Kubota repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

My Husqvarna lawn tractor deck will not engage Tractor runs fine

First check the belt.Make sure it is tight when the lever is engaged, and the engine is off.Make sure the belt is on all pulleys, and inspect for frays in the belt.If the belt is ok then, run your hand under the fender around the area of the lever.Make sure there is no debris blocking the lever from fully engaging. If that is good.Next inspect the linkage between the lever`s handle and the deck.Again make sure there is no debris and all connections are snug.

The blades will not disengage

Usually when this happens, there is grass/dirt buildup on top of the mower deck and the pivot point for the tensioner pulley gets rusted to the point that it won't rotate easily. Clean it off and lubricate the pivot point and get it moving freely. Also, sometimes the blade brake arms get stuck. There are rollers on each blade brake arm towards the center of the deck. They are hard to see just by looking under there. I suggest pulling the deck and get it out where you can see it well. The rollers get rusted up and won't turn and follow the cam on the pivot bracket.
