SOURCE: mitsubishi HD 1080 series model ws-65807 no volume.

You need a remote. There are places that sell them, but you can usually get by with your cable box remote or some other modestly programmable remote. It would help if you had an owner's manual. You can probably find one on line. It is a bit of a dance to make the menus work correctly.
My set is gone, but you have fairly ordinary on-screen menus. One of them is for sound on or sound off to the internals. That so that there isn't the conflict between speakers from a receiver based audio setup. You should have external speaker outlets on the set itself. If you do, plut in a speaker you're not worried about. you should get sound out from there.or use an audio out connection to a receiver, etc.

WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

Where do I get parts?

Unfortunately parts are going to be really hard to find for that set, and if you happen to find them they're going to be expensive, I'd look at getting a new TV

No picture on my set. (Mitsubishi ws-65905)

I have the same problem. I had someone come out and take a look at it they told me it was a DM module or signal board. Unfortunately Mitsubishi does not make the part anymore!! I'm very upset. I'm not saying this is your problem, but look at it as a possibility...

Ws-5511 Mitsubishi

On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to operate properly.
Disconnect the control panel.
You will be able to use the remote on it.
To find the plugs for the control panel:
Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection.

Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it.
